thanks everyone. :) its been really great. my trainer goes above and beyond to get me and the rest of us ready.

had another good day. drove almost 70 or 80 miles today. from inver grove heights, mn to plum city, wi. practiced what will be my cdl test route. aside from a few mistakes which of course i wont repeat, my trainer said i did great. he says i already have the truckers feel and my driving is beautiful :) my weakpoint is pretrip, which ill be devoting lots of time to. he says ill probably test on the 19th, which gives me an extra day, which im thrilled with of course.

weather says rain and sleet and snow tonight, so well be starting at noon and spending alot of time in the terminal yard pretripping and working on skills

I'm signing on with Swift from an outside training facility. I took my test in Indiana, and the Pre-Trip was pretty intimidating at first, but so simple at the end. It's just repetition. I'll be going to orientation in Harrisburg, PA after New Years. Passed the test first time. You will too! If not, go for it a second time! However, study study study. You don't want to take the test more than once.

Finally got coded friday. The student cooridnator was a little cold, but the rest of the staff was decent. My recruiter lost some important documents so I had to come up out of pocket to replace them. Not happy. Other than that I'm pretty optimistic. I'm getting a trainer by monday or tuesday so hopefully they'll be as top notch as yours is marky...

    thanks guys :)

had another good day. was a little rainy and a bit cold and foggy at the end of the day, but overall was a good day. did skills and pretrip practice. had no trouble at all with my skills, which are straight back and 45. far as i know i wouldve taken no points on them, and used the free pullup only a coupl times. skills portion should be very easy.

pretrip was a bit different. im stronger on it today than i was yesterday but i still need work. this is what ill be focusing my spare time on. was gonna bobtail back to the hotel but our trainer said ehh its pretty dense out here ya better let me drive. he said it was nothing to do with me, the fog was just too dense. visibility was bad but it was mainly around the terminal and he said he coulda let me drive, but i washappy to have some more behind the wheel time :)

going back to durand, wi tomorow to get some more driving practice and practice our cdl course. :)

Good deal! The only things I had to do at my school (again, non-swift) was straight line backing, offset backing, and parallel parking. It's a lot easier doing the parallel from a 45 degree pull-off though.
