    Good Afternoon.

Maybe someone can clarify this question.

My company has 2 Class B Flatbed Trucks

We never drive further than a 75 mile radius, and never for more than 4 hours straight at a time.

I have been scouring over the trucking regulations (391 392 393 394 395 etc) and can not pinpoint IF our drivers need to keep a daily trip log (a log that states they need to keep odometer readings, origins, destinations etc).

If someone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Jack

You fall in the 100 mile air radius, Short-Haul configuration....time cards will suffice, as long as the drivers begin and end their day at the same terminal location. Also your drivers would be on a 12 hour rule, not the 14. Be sure to stay in the Interstate regulations, not Intrastate unless you cross State lines with loaded commodity.....see the discussions in the following posts:

There is a link to FMCSA rules (questions and answers) in the first....watch for the link in one of my posts.

Trip logs are kept for the purposes of taxes. You have to list the states driven in for the different tax jurisdictions, plus list any toll miles for tax rebates.

If you are referring to road taxes...he is a company driver and the company certainly knows what roads he (they) are using....especially 75 miles....
