I delivered milk for 7 years, have been at US Foods for 9. Foodservice is probably the most frustrating job I’ve had. Bad loads, bad routing, etc. but the money is there. The first 6 years or so I worked hard to maximize my incentive pay(cases and stop pay). I could power through an 8-9 hour day, 5 days a week, and make 85-90k a year. We get paid incentive or hourly, whichever pays more each week. Our hourly rate is $30.75, and now I take as many miles and as few stops and cases as I can get. I’ll be 39 this month, and this job just isn’t friendly to the health of guys as they age.

Is that with raises or something? Down here in the Florida Keys (not an inexpensive region at all) the hourly rate for CDL A Sysco route driver is $23.80, at least to start.

That’s the max rate, which I believe is after a year(or maybe 2). Starting rate is $26.10
