come follow me thru the academy

Lost in cali,
I just finished the academy last Saturday, i can tell you it's worth it, it's the weeks long
But it's rewarding, in my opinion all the nay sayers or bad mouthers have never been there
Or just want to talk garbage, here is a breif synopsis:
Week one, paperwork make sure you have you're birth certificate and you're social security cares
None laminated or they will sends you home, make sure you study the az cdl book so you can pass you're permit
Test,

 

Week one, cont
Half way thru week one (wed/thurs) you will get hands on with the range trucks and start
practicing you're straight line backs, one and a half days practice and Thursday you with be tested
So be ready, the straight line back is the only (auto go home) test if you fail you go home, once pass
The straight line you will then start youre pre-trip inspection and preparing for that test it's is a 106 point
Inspection but not to worry you will get almost a full week of study and hands on time with the trucks
And you will study with a group, (at this point i recommend finding a study partner for a major
part of this test) during this week they will show you how to do drop and hooks, how toshift
Thru the lower gears, a little practice turning, also during week two, you will start learning to do the backing test
(off set, parallel parking and straight line),
Week three,
The rewards come this week, Monday you will head to the "shifting range" in a road truck, this is a road about 30 40 miles long and about 35 miles west of Phoenix you will spend around a day and a half going thru all of the gears
Up shifting and down shifting, then over then last few days you will do some city driving (fyi study you're turns
As this is where you will be tested mainly) Thursday you will be givin you're road evaluation, when you
pass you're road evaluation Friday you will do you're az on road cdl test and Friday night you're on you're way back home

Straight line you must get less than 4 points (week one)
Pre-trip you can only miss 18 out of 106 / you can not fail the air brakes test (week one / two)
Straight line, off set, and parraelle, you can only get 12 points on all three (week two / three)
(1) road test 30 points total, be careful they rack up fast
(2) pre-trip inspection 18 out of 106 as before
(3) straight line, off set, and parallel park 12 points
