Really? I was told it was perfectly fine to shift when going through an intersection from a stop. My instructor at the college I attended actually told me I could grab a gear while accellerating into the intersection prior to starting a left turn.

You can shift going thru an intersection, You can not shift while crossing R/R tracks that have not been abandoned. If your a Hazmat load you must come to a complete stop before crossing R/R tracks.

Nothing in the book says you cannot shift in an intersection.
