So we have a motor coach with an extended trailer, in Texas we can drive it without a CDL but in some states we need a CDL because it is so long. Is there any way to take a one day class in texas and use a commercial vehicle to drive so we can take the CDL test? or any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Manda :)

Why not find out what kind/class of license you "actually" need. Then talk to your local DPS office to see what they have.

The CDL moniker is vague at best. There are multiple classes of CDL. Many require little effort to acquire.

I assume that the over all length is what is causing this issue. Correct ?

go to the local trucking schools in your state, inquire with them.

personally i think people that have such vehicles SHOULD have a CDL.
