Companies or small carriers that hire SAP drivers

Quick question. If someone were to change employers mid program. Would the new employer restart the random testing plan from the very beginning or resume from where the previous employer left off?

 

And then the problem arises: since it’s been 5 years since the violation, it’s also been 5 years since a SAP driver had adequate “ recent experience “which is also a major insurance requirement.

 

Yeah, so even if you complete the program and meet all of the SAP requirements, they will hold it over your head for 5 years.

It's a defacto ban from the industry that doesn't factor in if you made a one time mistake or have a genuine substance abuse problem that needs treatment.

 

I'm a recent graduate I had to go through sap program I think my sap driver is giving me false info she is telling me that only way to go green is to find a job but I didn't take a drug test for my sap counselor she is just saying that I have to find a job but after reading it looks like that is true along with her sending me for a test for step 5 Does anyone know what the process is exactly it's been hard to find a company that will hire me as a sap driver I'm in Cleveland Oh area

 

Unless you can find someone that is willing to pick you up as an SAP driver, you are stuck on getting to or moving past Step 5.

 

I have a past step 5 and at step 6 I just got my cdl in September no job is hiring me is there any jobs that will let me know please

 

You need to keep looking. Start looking into jobs like construction that allow you to drive a truck, that way you can get Step 6 closed out.

Dump trucks, cement mixers, or even septic vacuum trucks are things you may need to consider. Beggars can't be choosers.

And by the way, if you don't have your RTD accomplished by Nov 18, your State will downgrade your CDL automatically thanks to the new Clearinghouse ruling that they passed.

 

The FMCSA has lifted their original stance that you have to be employed by a carrier to do the step 6 follow up tests. You may now, legally, 1) register in the Clearinghouse as an owner, 2) hire a c/tpa and make sure they are also registered in Clearinghouse as a c/tpa, 3) the c/tpa will then send you to your random follow up tests as prescribed by your SAP, for a minimum of one year . Upon successful completion of you follow up tests( negative) your c/tpa will notify the Clearinghouse and your Clearinghouse account will show that your violations are closed.. it takes a year, but all s 6 steps will be complete without ever setting foot in a truck

 

I wanna get my own truck. Am I screwed as an owner operator?

 

I am on Step 5 of SAP and looking for companies that will hire and do RTD test and step 6 for SAP, I'm based out of Bakersfield, CA does anybody know of any companies in or around my area? I have a couple weeks of driving experience driving from Arvin, CA to Parker, AZ driving doubles.
