Hello everyone.
I have question to you guys!
December 26th 2022 was my last day of working as truck driver, leaser. I was working for one of the company in Chicago on dryvan trialera "drop and hook". Basically I was picking up (loaded /empty) trailer from one state and drop it in another.
From the time I start working with them, the company withdraw $2500 for deposit. They told me that "deposit will be returned to you after 45 days from the last day your worked for us."
So decided to work untill 26th of December the take winter vacation.
The company paid me back for whole loads that I have done , but deposit.
I waited and counted 45 days from the 26th of December and when time cam on, I asked Acounting of this company "When I get my deposit?" They said "it doesnt include weekends", so I waited another month and here is March.
I asked them again , and they said that they will charge me for load that I made back in September 23rd. That broker didnt pay them for the load , because he(broker) couldnt see BOL number and also $50 late fee charge applies to me as well.
So I was so mad and shocked. Luckily I saved whole chat with dispatch and BOL's. So looked it up to that date and saw that BOL is clear enough to see everything on it, all pictures of trailer that i delivered and on the chat dialog with dispatch they told me that "Im good to go" .
Company refusing to even look at it.
By the way I returned truck with good condition as was taken at first place and all equipment was returned back on time.
So, here is the questions.
What can I do on that situation?
Can file case on them ?
Because to me its unfair . I worked and did everything that dispatch told me to do so.
Thank you for time community.
Be safe out there!![]()

1. Care to point out the clear bol number as I'm not seeing one?
2. Like anything in life, you can sue in civil court but it will come down to the contract you signed and what it says.Grouch, Graham Cracker, Another Canadian driver and 2 others Thank this. -
