The crazy thing is they came up with the zip code to zip code miles years ago before we have the technology we have now. There is no excuse how these companies get away with shortening the miles these days, really do t see how they get away with it..I deal with it where I am now but I gotta take the good with the bad

Well you're not likely to change their thought process, get back to the yard and clean out your truck is what I'd say. If you wanted to be especially petty you could turn around and park it in the yard with the load on.

Wouldn't that be quitting under dispatch?

What is wrong, you are legally in charge of how the truck runs, just drive the route you planned that is the closest to what your being paid, if they fire you, then sue them for wrongful termination.

see I’m with you on that, like you I was willing to put up with a little discrepancy. To kind of alleviate some of the feeling of being ripped off I always try and take the shortest route that trucks legally can drive on. When the company tells me “here’s your miles, and on top of that we want you to drive a route that’s 80 miles further than the one you come up with just because,“ then I start having a real problem with it.

at that point they’re really not paying you by the mile they’re just paying you what they want to pay you to run that load. Lol if you really want to get technical about it that’s what they’re doing.

Miles should never be more than 1 to 2% off. When they start approaching 10% or more, you are literally getting ripped off.

I'm sure, does anybody really care at that point?

Can't say. I just don't know if that impacts a driver like abandoning a truck or whatever

I'm sure it does, at other companies who know the driver would do the same thing at.

What company is this ? Everytime a driver withholds information that would prevent other drivers from finding out the truth about companies , just keeps fueling the fire so the company can continue to get away with it.

stick to it, don’t let them screw you over. Guarantee they are billing customer for
Practical route or maybe even hub miles.
    Don’t quit under dispatch.
