Conflicting weigh station bypass

Follow the sign... not your prepass!!!! Signs will tell you that.....

 

Different rules for different states... if you get a green light you can always bypass unless certain conditions are met. Here is the listing from my prepass elite package...

 

Many (most? All?) states require permit loads to come through the scale regardless of what the pre pass says.

I don't have pre pass, the story I hear is that too many drivers were forgetting they were pulling permit loads and bypassed the scales.

 

Those arrows are triggered by the paramaters set for the plates in the ground.

Yes I understand the are additional rules that apply to os od and hazmat that requires you to pull in regardless in most of if not all states.

 

DOT not going to jump on you even if you will pull in even if you have green light,
IN GA I am constantly getting green light on prepass and "go to station " on that lighted screen, l always pulling in never had problem.It's better to say "sorry" on weigh station, then trying to explain police officer on a side of a shoulder what system have priority and why

This. I've only one had to explain why I had pulled into a weigh station, and I had gotten the sign telling me to pull in, for some reason, as I was empty and the Washington scales are supposed to bypass empty trucks. Dot was walking out to another truck, gave me a double take and asked why I pulled in, I shrugged and said the sign told me to, he shrugged and told me to have a good day.

 

Yes I just missed videoing a situation like this, I got a red prepass signal (have to go into weigh station) but the sign said CLOSED so I went on by. As I went by I see the DOT officer sitting in his big bay window birddogging me as I go by.
