Thanks a lot Chinatown! I will being to research those companies, and get on doing some more cardio then I am currently doing. Thanks a lot for mentioning the stuff I would need. As of right now I only have a laminated social security card, so I will get on getting a replacement as soon as possible just to get that out of the way. Never had to get it replaced but I am sure it is a lot of red tape.
Chinatown Thanks this. -

Thanks again for all the responses you guys! Really have been super helpful so far. Midwest_MacDaddy, if it is not to much to ask. Whenever you get some free time, would you check out this website? http://driving-tests.org/north-carolina/#cdltests I have been taking the General Knowledge Test, HazMat, and Air Brakes test on this site twice a day for about a month and a half, and am just curious if these questions at all match what I will see on the CDL test. The exam mode says it mimics the test from the state, but would love to know from someone that has actually taken it recently.
I also printed out a copy of the CDL book from the DMV that I have begun to study in advance, in case I jump into the school in March. Just to try to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks again guys!Last edited: Jan 7, 2016

Actually, TTR has sample tests too. Add them to your preparation and read the handbook a few times. Then you should be well prepared to get your permit.
Florida was computerized test and their permit was good for either six months or a year so go ahead and take it when you are ready and check it off the to do list.
I think only three test are required for you permit. General Knowledge, Air Breaks, and Combination Vehicle... So knock those three out first then focus on your endorsements later.
I think you can take them all at once or one at a time so if you are concerned just focus on Air Breaks first, or any of the three, just to get the ball rolling.
Also, go ask if the tests are computerized... If they work like FL then you can skip the hard questions and save those for last. I didn't know a couple but saved them for last. You only need to get like 20 out of 25 questions right so if you get the first 20 out of the way then you don't even have to answer the few hard ones at all. Test is simply over once you get 20 right.
And it's a multiple choice test too... So if you don't know the right answer eliminate the answers you know are wrong and that will make you odds of guessing better.
So, read the book they gave you, just the chapters you need to study for the tests you are taking, do the practice tests on your link above but add the tests here on TTR too. Take as many tests as you think you are ready to take and you are golden.
Now, go get your permit!!! -
Awesome dude, thanks a ton! Will get on it immediately.
