About to start school in Phoenix this month and thinking Prime would be a good company to start with. I have heard that Prime has good training and opportunity to make good pay with the increased cpm for the lightweight tractor. If I did get them to accept my application I would want to work in either the tanker or refer division. Anything I should know or prepare for that I may not be aware of? Also how is their hiring process? I have a clean MVR, & no issues of drug use or criminal history. Any info on average miles per week for a new driver once going solo, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Considering Prime

New to Prime INC - What to expect (Springfield edition) -
Good luck their trainers are nothing more then truckers teaming, They drive and send you to bed, then they stop and ask you if you need to go in like you have no bodily functions just them, then they drive their time and run with it, Then they get their time out and wake you up if you were able to sleep in that bumpy ride sloshing around, then it is time for you to drive, so now he gets you out on the highway and he sits there about 30 minutes and he goes to bed about 4 hours down the road you hear a growl from the bed, 'How Ya Doing?" about scares the crap out of you the first few times but after that you expect it, He then asks "Where are we?" and you tell him, "Oh we need to make better time then this," You think to yourself, we are on flat land and the truck is governed at 60.5 MPH and you have had it pegged at the very set speed! How can we go any faster, So then he gets up and it is time to fill that little tank you have on there AGAIN! so then he lets you pull in the fuel island and he grabs his shower bag and tells you to fuel it and park it and come in for a shower, see he doesn't tell you he can get a shower on his card for you and it wouldn't cost you anything, so he is in a shower and comes out and asks "Did you shower that fast?" You tell him "No I don't have any shower credits and have not been paid yet" He then says "Well we need to go, when you figure out how to get a shower we will stop and get a shower again on Thursday!", Today is Monday you start thinking oh Prime is not that Prime right about now! The trainers are only training because they can't make any money unless they run team with a trainee. But one good thing about being here in Phoenix rather then riding the Grey Dog, Alligent Airlines that Flies out of Gateway in Mesa flies right into SpringMo. They are pretty cheap, And Prime will reimburse you for the amount of the dog, on the unlimited rate. I hope this helps.

Actually, if you're paying for your own training, you might want to look a little further than just Prime.
You might find a company that is interested in more than just moving boxes down the road and leasing trucks to poor folks. -
I remember a few months ago a husband/wife team spent hard earned money on a private CDL school, then signed on with CR England. System Transport would have hired them for .50cpm split.123456 Thanks this.
