I just went to an interview with Conway LTL, and everything seemed nice, and he was asking "is this still something you are interested in?" a few times....
But after I already say Im interested in the job, he asks if all my work info is on my app, because I will be fired even if I worked for someone for 2 weeks and didnt put it down.
First off buddy, have you seen the conway application? It doesnt even have an area for education, or unemployment... the thing is the lease complete app of any company I have seen...
Secondly, why the hell would I waste my time with a company that might fire me.... when they dont provide me with a way to completely document my experience.... or to explain myself?
Why would I risk working with you for a few weeks, only to be terminated and put a black eye on my record, because you want to have insane expectation?
They said they already fired the last guy for working two weeks for his uncle and not putting it on the app... The thing is already hard enough to fill out, and magically I didnt have problems filling out apps for anybody else...and you want to penalize people for not filling out your app completely? It doesnt even have places to fill out everything you need to put in there.
And he says "it looks like youve been all over the place, is there a reason for that? Moving 4 times in 26 years is not "all over the place", and how many 26 year olds do you know with 9 years working experience?
Im not going to risk putting a black eye on my record because they want to be able to can me for things that nobody else gives a #### about.
The next worst company was US Xpress, who made me write out explanations if my app didnt match the background check. They didnt just fire people for that... they gave them a chance. Conway firing someone for not reporting that he worked for his uncle for 2 weeks is absurd...
None of the other companies have even asked me to clarify if there was a small difference, they looked at it, said "its close enough" and moved on...
5 Companies had enough common sense to understand that dates on background checks and the real world might not line up, one just wanted me to write an explanation.... but Conway wants me to come to work and risk being fired if their background check says I flipped burgers for two weeks or whatever?
No thank you, I have plenty of job offers, Im not going to risk having a termination on my file.
Thats just plain arrogant if you ask me. -
This just occured to me:
Conway will fire you for not telling them about a part time temp job you worked 10 years ago, but they will hire a convicted felon after 7 years.
So when did someone who needed a little cash become worse than someone who committed a felony? What the hell? Treating someone worse than a criminal, because they forgot a temporary job... something they werent even fired from?
No thank you, I will go to a company that believes working to make ends meet is a sign of a good worker, not worse than a criminal...
