    Hi guys,

I'm looking to get on with a company doing OTR chemical tanker (or possibly flatbed if my body's up for it). I'm a new driver. Can anyone tell me companies that offer the following:

    1) Don't have to double bunk with trainer during training
    2) Generous idle policy or apus
    3) Benefits before 90 days (preferably before 60)

    Thanks, as always!

If you'd foot the bill for the hotel I'm sure an OTR company wouldn't mind #1. Just seems a bit unrealistic.

Keep looking, and lower your "wants".

As newbie, you got nothing to demand.

You want to be sleeping when the trainer is, that way he's in the seat beside you while your driving "training you".

    Good luck!

What I meant about double bunking was that either the trainer or both drivers got a motel room. I have read of both situations on these forums. Superior carriers put both student and trainer in a hotel, if I remember correctly.By the way, I'm not making any demands. Heck, if I went to a company known to offer these things I wouldn't even have to make a request! 😀

he could always bring a hammock and sling it under the trailer and hope to hell the trainer doesn't forget he's under there lol

never ceases to amaze me what they want.

the 2nd two might be conceivable with a little research but good luck with the first one.......or you could always do the W/S 10 day crash course and drag a box and dispense with the trainer altogether

Do you know for a fact that Superior does that, and are both sharing a room, or separate rooms ?

Could it have been the truck broke down and they got a motel room?

Oh, I think it would have been a MOTEL, not a hotel.

    Why?

Hotels are a bit more money.

At least in a Motel?? You can get hooker service easier.

Check out McElroy out of Cuba, AL. They seemed decent from what I heard.

I do recall seeing a few posts for a couple of companies doing that but it was a co-ed training situation and the guy trainer got the room and the female student stayed in the truck.

lol yeah it sure won't be a hilton garden inn will it? more like a super 8 or econolodge maybe.

one of the mods on here runs with superior maybe he'll see this one and weigh in on it.

Are you a female? Cause #1 could happen if your trainer is a male, if you're a male, well....I guess those operation is popular now, might want to take to a doctor
