Cost of shutting down.

I'd rather just wander off to the treeline and water the grass.

 

I do that too sometimes. I wouldnt leave my heated truck in the middle of a blizzard though. Have to do that enough during the day.

Other times I end up parking in the city somewhere, everything is closed and there just isnt any privacy. CCTV cameras in one direction, city roads in another. Well lite parking lot. No thanks.

I drove with a couple of guys they just did not care. It was fair game anywhere. And at least as long as they were with me they never got in trouble. But thats not me, I cant do it like that. Especially not parked at customer property over night and they are closed. I know they have cameras and even if they understand and dont care, I dont wanna be recorded doing my business.

But hey thats just me. If the OP doesnt want that then by all means, do it a different way.

 

I won't pee on pavement, but I'll go find some grass or gravel as long as Im not facing a road or a camera.

 

I think, coming from the military, which is pretty strict and regimented, and now you are trying to compare that to trucking, is pretty far apart. I have a feeling, stuff like this would eat away at you, because of your training. It's not a high class profession and only until recently, it required little or no training, and quite frankly, the only reason I went into it, was I couldn't believe I got paid to do that. It tends to attract individuals today that have no other choice. You won't get Einstein with those requirements.

 

People who like to urinate on pavement is the primary reason I dont sleep at truckstops. Especially in the summer. Nothing quite like the smell of 200° piss to keep you awake at night....

Another reason rain is such a miracle,,,it's like natures toilet.

 

It should rain a LOT more often on that cruddy TA in Denton

 

I've never had a lizard bother me at a rest area. Never had a non-English speaking person hit my truck. There's a well lit washroom a couple hundred yards away that, in most cases, is cleaner than any f'n j or TA toilet. And...Billy Big Rigger runs his jake brakes 60' or so BEHIND my tractor, NOT waking me up.

 

It doesnt cost money to keep it clean. It is a matter of personal hygene. If they cant clean the cab of pee that misses the bottle, or take showers on a regular basis. That is their problem. If they are owner operators, they can take longer than 10 hours to shut down their day. They can do anything they want. Yet it appears from your post it means they will act slovenly.
