Title says it all, I'm just looking for some stories from some of you experienced drivers. Whats the one thing that comes to your mind where you were all stressed out, things were going crazy wrong, and how did you overcome it? looking back what would you do different? These stories are the ones I always want to hear because I might myself in something similar soon.

A few years back I was trucking westbound on I-40 uphill into Flagstaff AZ, approaching the first overpass into the area there was No fog on my road but after the overpass was ZERO visibility; ** I was driving 65 mph and decided to slow down and park on the side of the road. As I drove under the overpass I realized I was driving into a massive "golf ball" size Hail storm. Three 4 wheelers overturned on the road. One was being helped by a good samaritan. I Was headed for a collision that I knew was going to change my Life for ever. In split second I shifted to Neutral (( There were about three feet of Hail on the ground)) ** The position of the vehicles allowed me to start an S TURN maneuver to avoid hitting the cars...and the hail provided the "Braking power" that I needed. After coming to a complete stop and about two minutes later the good samaritan helping a lady in one of the overturned cars (That I missed by inches) asked me....I Quote: Hell of a maneuver How did you do it??? My answer was : I must have been JESUS holding my steering wheel. Nobody got hurt that day....and there were a Total of Seven cars overturned and Two big trucks on the ditch. (( that all happened on a stretched of road no longer than a 1/4 of a mile. So If you find yourself driving into Flagstaff AZ either East or West and you see is covered by a Big puffy white Cloud:::: slow down as might be trouble ahead for you.

Going in the wrong entrance and having to back out onto a busy 4 lane street. I didn't look ahead for the entrance so that was my fault.

I used to deliver to a couple places on Tonnelle Ave in N Bergen NJ. Driving a sleeper with a 53. Get the doors open on a side street, watch the traffic, jump out across the road and back into a tiny dock on a blind side angle while the traffic comes upon you blowing horns, driving behind you over sidewalks while they give you the one finger salute. Yeah, that was fun, NOT!

Crazy? Driving on freezing rain, slowed down to 15mph and then pulled off and saw various vehicles sliding around.

Isn't it amazing sometimes how in the heat of the moment, or seconds, you manage to do something only to wonder later..."how in the heck did i do that?" giving in to the notion that maybe it wasn't really me holding that wheel. Glad all worked out well pilot1998.

Many, many years ago as I was going south bound on the NJTP, and heading for the Delaware Bridge toll plaza, it was wintertime. The roads were not plowed or shall I say, not properly plowed. As a result, there were tire tracks very high in the snow. As I approached the toll plaza for the bridge (and long before EZ-Pass), my tractor was headed for lane 2, my trailer was heading for lane 3. Somehow, I got the trailer back in line. Toll operator in my lane said, "thank you". Toll operator in lane 3, saluted me. (and not the one finger type either).
