CRETE - A Year in Review

How does Crete's payroll run..Sunday-Saturday or Friday-Thursday?

 

Payday for us poor company schlubs is Thursday.

A trip has to be TransFlo'd into Lincoln by midnight Friday night in order for it to be paid the following Thursday. There are a few minor exceptions, but basically that's the pay schedule.

 

The last, and only, time this happened, I was paid a total of $200. The difference maybe that I'm an o/o and have equipment, and not just miles, vested in the load. As a company driver, all they are concerned with is paying you for the miles you drive.

 

None of us will disagree with this point. However, many of us CHOSE OTR, pitfalls and all. It was a conscience decision on our part. That seems to be the point you are missing.

For me, and I'm guessing many others, I CHOSE this profession not just for the money, although it is important and could be improved, but for many other factors. Local driving does not meet those factors! I'm glad that local driving fits your lifestyle, good for you!

The problem we have with your posts is that they come off condisending, and reek of "I'm better than you" because I'm a local driver.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I should be getting the greatest present of my life. After almost losing my daughter and granddaughter during childbirth(I didn't find out how bad things got until we spoke to the doctors the next day), my daughter has rebounded great, and was released medically from the hospital, but is allowed to stay there until her little girl is cleared to go home. My granddaughter is scheduled to be released on Christmas day... Who cares about any other present under the tree, this Christmas will be one of the best if it happens like the doctors expect.
