ET, did you deliver to that Bud Distributor there? I've been a couple of times. Nice people!!!!

My apologies, I've been shirking my duties. I've been forced into the shop for an overdue A service, so I have a little time to do some catch up.

When I got to the scales, the security guy just shook his head. Yeah, theyve had it happen and not just once or twice.

I Qc'd dispatch and told them in no uncertain term that someone need to call and rip the shipper a new one. I was instantly put into a dock and they ripped my trailer completely apart and reloaded me correctly. Their supervisor came over and apologized and asked IF I was going to make delivery on time...I told him no, but I'd do what I could do "legally and safely"

Anyway, I agree, Crete does need to come down on these guys for this crap.

What a wonderful day in MN. I woke up this morning to clear skies and -16°. Fortunately my anti gel was working. Drove into Minneapolis for a live unload that was followed with a 220mi run down to IA. At least it was a drop n hook on both ends and dispatch even offered to set me up with a good preplan once I delivered the short run. Nice, I didn't even have to ask.

I arrived at the shipper with the wrong p/u info and had to do a little back n forth with dispatch. By the time all was straight I was left with about 15mins of spare time, but delivery was made just prior to a 3pm deadline.

Then it was time to pickup my "preloaded" trailer. It wasn't. So off to dock door 14 for a live load. One hour later the truck starts bounching around. Good news, right? After a LOT of bouncing the trainee asked "how many pallets can they put on one truck"?

Oddly enough I was thinking along the same lines because I had felt the last of the pallets being put on the tail of the trailer. But now im feeling the forklift getting closer to the cab.

Oh no! Who knows what happened, but I have to assume either the wrong order was put on or the forklift operator realized this heavy load needed to be adjusted. Im putting my bet on the wrong load being put on my trailer.

So now im 3 1/2hrs into a drop/hook/ live load/ unload/load and the forklift is just now putting freight on the front of the trailer. Good grief!

At least I got a nice 1400mi run out of the house and this load is a drop delivery once I manage to get loaded. Now all I have to worry about is getting an empty trailer out of DSC in Lebanon. I think I saw 5-6 bobtails waiting around there last time I was in the area.

I'm glad I've managed to miss participating in driving in the worst of the weather since Christmas. I got my fill over the holidays chaining up to climb out of Cabbage Pass, etc. At the moment I'm running hard from NJ to Laredo, TX, and have managed to stay just inches ahead of the storms all the way south.

However, I've had to do a fair amount of running I-80 and I-70 this month just after the major storms. There must have been several dozen rigs off the road in spots like west of Indianapolis and around Wollcott IA (world's largest truck stop). The sad commentary is that nearly every rig was off the road in the median, meaning that they had wiped out attempting to pass and make better time than the guy/gal keeping their cool in front of them.

Even when I was passing through the day after the storms, the hammer lane was still in poor shape with packed snow and black ice, yet lots were passing me in that lane like it was dry. I actually considered shutting down for a day, not because the roads couldn't be driven, but because of all the idiots driving way beyond any safety margin and the fear of being taken out with them.

Did anyone see the US Express truck on the east bound side of I-80 near Wallcott on the top of the hill? The highway went through a cut in a hill and the rig ran off the east bound shoulder and up that hill like it was a runaway truck ramp. When I drove by it was perched on top of that hill upright and straight, and I thought it was an advertisement of some kind. Didn't get the big picture until I was past and saw the tracks leading up the hill. Boy, he sure had a ride! Wish I could have taken a picture of that one to share.

That beats me...I spent the night in Huntsville, AL at the receiver...got iced in...the next load picked up in Florence, AL the next day...once I got the courage to roll w/an empty trailer, 20 miles west of Huntsville, the skies cleared, and there wasn't any snow or ice on the roads, and barely any snow on the grassy areas. Picked up a load to the south side of Atlanta...then McDonough to Alachua...and they got me home 30 minutes early. Asked to be home by 2359 on Friday night, was sitting in my driveway at 2330...Will miracles never cease. So now I'm off for real home time instead of the pass through visits I've been getting the last 6 weeks. Now to the real work....Honey do logbook, here I come.:biggrin_2559:

    I challenge that slanderous statement.:biggrin_25510:

I mean, come on! I have a reputation to uphold here.

Tie down your horses there SS. I'm going to need some confirmation before I'm willing to concede to that bold claim.

Please note my January mileage total includes the first four weeks plus the first run of the fifth week which concluded on Monday, Jan 31st with a nice little run of 699mi.

That put my January delivered miles at 13,516 miles.
