CRETE - A Year in Review

Yankee's "Harley" is a bicycle with a poker card taped against the spokes....LOL.....better not let your daddy find out that he is missing a card outta the deck.

 

Its ok he used the joker card, his daddy wont mind.

 

The best thing that could keep it from getting any infection is bleeding. It flushes any infection from entering the wound. Any time I get a cut that doesn't bleed, I milk it until it does.

 

Why do you continue to work for a junk OTR company with 19 years of experience? Are you your own worst enemy?

 

Engine light is back on, and now I'm getting a ticking noise under high load conditions above 1350 RPM. Lifter? Injector? And do I head to the dealer tomorrow or baby it til I get home in two weeks? Not worried about expense since the truck has all of 10,000 miles on it. Stay tuned....

 

Dang, Ralph, you're gonna have to hire a stunt man to do your pretrips.

 

One simple reason...my wife needs the health insurance. Most companies require at least 90 days before we're covered. My wife's med's alone would be in the $400's per month without insurance.

 

So true. I didn't have any coverage for a few years before returning to Crete. The insurance company sent me a letter saying they could find no recent records so would not cover anything considered a previous condition for a whole year. It seems like that could rule out everything. If I develop cancer, it was obviously previous at some point as well as any other disease. It seems like the health insurance companies are some of the most cutthroat people to deal with.

 

There is comfort in company my fellow driver. Back in the summer, I was checking my fifth wheel connection and as I was crawling back out from under the trailer, I too, stood up a second to early. Ouch..... I pull a tanker so we have those fenders on the trailer that cover the tractor drive tires. They have a nice sharp edge on them as well. It's funny really. We do this stuff a thousand times without incident, and then, there's that one day...

 

I have several scars on my back from catching the edges of trailers when I stand up too soon coming out from under after checking something or repairing stuff. I've torn holes in shirts and jackets. My wife's first smartaced comment is "who is she" until I remind her that I have never been good enough in bed to get claw marks...besides, it's 1 on 1 side.(I could say something crude and offensive here, but we'll all just use our imagination for our own 'fill in the blank' sexual statement instead)
