Well, I am going to level with all here. Have not been with Crete for about 4 months. Received call from Utah today. My old boss. She was interested in me. Perish the fact that a company manager would give a hoot about their people. Wow. I was told that I was a dam good driver and they were concerned about me. Pretty darn good in this day, and age. Unfortunately, my medical condition does not allow my return to OTR under their business plan (6 weeks/ 6 days). Still a good company. They are struggling too.

They must have had a significant increase in turnover because I'm hearing tons of Crete recruitment ads on SiriusXM.

I heard the other day that drivers aren't the only ones walking out the door. Five V.P.s have left the company this year.

There are no shortcuts to Tonn's yearly bonus.

Keep in mind, many of these Veeps were getting along in years, and were close to retirement age.

As for the recruiting ad's. Perhaps they are getting a jump on the needed extra drivers when the new HOS start in July, just in case they don't get stopped in the courts.

As for Ottawa, it is still a drop yard, but totally unmanned. I guess parking there is more or less at your discretion and your level of acceptance of possible theft by someone.

I'm home. After last weeks 2000 mile week, they got me home this week with 2515. I have a new grand daughter to see (my 3rd grand kid...who couldn't wait until her delivery appointment in May), and another phone to get replaced. Fingers crossed on this new phone.

I had an interesting load the other day. I picked up 3 rolls of paper out of SC going to W. Carrollton, OH. each roll was 14,000 lbs and almost 14' long. They were on risers on their side with 6 straps each holding them down(provided by the shipper)...and it took a huge pallet jack on steroids to move them. I have hauled all sorts of roll paper, but never like that

Wow!!! Has activity stopped on this thread or what? I hope it's because everyone is just too busy. We only need a little under 9000 views to break 1 million...

I'm on a 34 reset (not that I requested). For a long time I told them I need to attend a wedding on the West Coast around May 12. I'm currently on the East Coast. Suddenly my AM sends me two proposed preplans to get me out there immediately (one preplan is over 2200 miles!). Why so early I don't know. She asked if I could make these "hot" loads and I said that if I squeezed in a 34 reset on my current load, I would be able to make them. Now I'm just trying to mentally prepare for the disappointment when midway through the first load, they pull the 2200+ load. I can almost guarantee they will do something like that.

If they tried that with me and I had to be somewhere for something as important as a wedding, I would refuse to give it up and keep rolling with it and give them the option of delivering with their blessing or delivering w/o their blessing.
