Something ironically humorous...the driver who was picking up the trade trucks had 3 piggybacked on the 4th truck, went to leave and the truck he chose to be the drive truck...broke down across the driveway right in front of the Wilmer shop...Looks like someone traded trucks at the absolute last minute before his truck died...anyone want to buy a used Crete truck?

Well, I know a lot of drivers claim they like E-Logs better once they've been on them a while. That'll never be me making that claim. I was on them for over two years and never liked them better than my ink pen. I mean REALLY! I understand all the Pros and Cons. Been there and done that to all of them. Sorry but they just aren't better to me. Handy at times for a few things but that's it for me. Besides, they have forced them into the industry on us. More and more every day. I guess that just puts a little more salt in the wound. Now more control can be implemented and next thing you know the E-Logs will tell you when you can take a crap. Pretty much there already. Pen and paper is a nice drivers tool that many seem to have forgotten. I have nothing against those drivers that say they like them better. Always going to be at least two sides to the issue. I love NOT being on them now. Many people Love having them. Keep us posted on how much they change. I'm sure all the changes will benefit the driver somehow(Lol). Good Luck with them. Hope I never have to use them again!

I do, actually, because **** the MaxxFarce.

It's got two things going for it: it sounds good and it's relatively quiet. Other than that? Zip, nada.

How's Shaffer? Some driver was trying to recruit me (I know, I know..) and pretty much promised me the world there, along with all the miles and high pay... along with his card so I could use him as a referral for a nice bonus for him lol. Just asking because they're their sister company and Im only making 30 cpm after a year where I'm at right now and was told I could start out at 40 cpm... but if I get the 2200-3000 miles I get right now is anyones guess.

I had something similar happen recently. It did the same thing and it added a small segment of driving. I can't remember exactly how long (but must have been near the minimum 4, 5, 6?). I got really p.o.'d, switched it back to off-duty and went back to checking trailers or whatever I was doing. Then later, I noticed it had taken the small driving segment OFF and combined it with the off-duty. I guess if it's below some minimum and you catch it in time, it switches to the previous line type. Not really sure but it surprised the h#ll out of me.

Made it to the K/C shop today. When I walked in to write it up the guy looked at and said..."you're gona be here a while". "b" service and 10 writeups. I guess the smoking coming out of the mesh flex under the cab...exhaust leak. They also said they're having issues with brakes like the symptom I put down...said they are having 's-cams' BREAK!!! Also, while I was in Wilmer yesterday, there was a driver with an almost new Prostar with the steer axle brake line about to blow out. Seems as though they used too cheap of metal in the 'L' mount at the frame, and the threads are literally blowing out.... But, it looks as though I will be here into next week...so there goes another bad week. I ended up this week with a little over 2000 miles.

This terminal is just like Wilmer, trade trucks everywhere. Almost no room to park in-service trucks coming in to have work done there are so many.

You probably already know but that casino across the road has some nice eateries and a movie theater too. I stayed in the hotel too and if I remember correctly it was pretty reasonable. At least it will help you forget all the current hassles.

Anyone traveling south on 77 today? I came the closest to wrecking I've ever experienced. Was coming down the hill at 65, came around a corner and saw break lights. Traffic had completely stopped. In my mind I was already playing out jackinging and frantically scanning which path of destruction would leave the least damage. Miraculously the car directly in front of me pulled out of the lane and over to the side. Luckily I had a fairly light load and stopped smoothly. Was in the backup for 1.5 hours.

:biggrin_25521: Dang man, glad you had it under control. I'm sure that car that pulled out felt like this emoticon:biggrin_25521:
Me and two other cretens made it from Dyersburg, TN to Mt. Prospect, IL. I felt bad since my appt. was last at the shipper and the cons but I was loaded first and unloaded first (the night before actually) plus we had a nice empty parking lot to ourselves for the night. I was offered a 453 miles total run picking up Friday morning and delivering MONDAY! Luckily I got to see the new Joliet drop yard and dropped that sucker off. There were about 5 or 6 other cretens there:biggrin_25523: I snagged an mt and went over to Bolingbrook to hook up to a load that was ready 5 hours ahead of appt.!!! Sitting in Troy, IL headed to Lewisville for an ASAP drop.

On the ELOG training; I can't wait to be released from the paper logs:biggrin_2559:

I try to stay out of the casino's anymore...it's not an addiction but it's not far from it. "almost won that one...just one more $20 and I stop...repeat"
