Don't know if you like Volvos SSB but there should be a couple that are available for your starting out truck in lieu of the Freight Shakers. They might not be on the lists but if you ask about taking one they will give you the go ahead.

Hopefully you will make out ok. I believe most new hires now are getting Internationals. I was lucky enough to get a 2010 International with a Cummins and I haven't had any problems with it. It had 240,000 miles on it and it pulls like a champ. I happy with my selection. When I went thru orientation I was the only driver and had 4 internationals to chose from. Like JD said it took me about 2 hours but I went thru each of them until I decided on one. Two were newer but one the inside wasn't as clean as the one I chose and the other truck was smoked in which im not a smoker.

I mentioned that I loved Volvo's during my face to face, I don't know if he has any influence, but I'd be just as happy w/a Cummins powered Corn binder...will just have to learn how to drive a normal truck again after being in a Maxxfarce for almost 2 years

Correct. Which is why I measured 10 ft from the back of the trailer since the kingpin is set three feet from the front of the trailer. Hence, 53 ft minus 3 ft leaves 50 ft, and 50 ft minus 10 ft leaves 40 ft, and that is where I marked the trailer. Then I slid the center of the rear axle to that mark, which should hopefully make me legal in California.

And thanks for confirming that the red holes are what I thought they were for and also for indicating that not all of them are accurate.

Wound up with 2750 last week. Had a shorty Friday, but couldn't quite get it done until Saturday. It would have put me at 2999 for the week. Stuck on a 600-miler with too much time over the weekend, but I'm not complaining. After 32 days out, I needed a break if for no other reason to clean up the truck and do some laundry, all the while getting in a 34. Still got 16 days to go until vacation with family in Santa Fe, NM. I can safely say I will never do 48 days out at a stretch ever again. Wouldn't have done it this time but for the family get-together.

No sir. Came to Crete 18 months ago after 4 1/2 years with Schneider. Also had eight years OTR from 1996 through 2004, then took 3 1/2 years off.

I should add that regarding my last week, I was running off recap the whole time. I was also trying to "even out my days" somewhat, as I had a stretch of days working 11, then 5, then 10.

i didnt think so most brand new drivers right out of school would not be able to perform as well as you have but ive been w/ ccc going on 7 yrs and am very happy here i also am a trainer so i was just asking as i try to explain to a new student what they might be able to make on a year as this is one of the reason turnover is so high again best of luck w/ your endover with ccc
