DITTO!!! Slept at the Lowe's off John Young Pkwy less than 2 miles from consignee. I roll up at 05:30 for my 06:00 apt only 50 miles from home to start home time. Walgreens Orlando holds me hostage there til a little past noon. Like you said, this company dodges paying Detention. They can't or won't write a contract that holds these company's feet to the fire like everyone else does. The only place I've worked that doesn't automatically pay detention after 2 hours. Shameful really. I am sure they've lost many a good driver over unpaid Detention.

Something I've noticed. When I post concerning our company, I find it natural to refer to those other than drivers as Them instead of We. It shouldn't feel that way but it does. Just something I've noticed.

I was at Crete for 5 years and never once received a detention pay. I think they have drivers fill out the form to make them think CCC is doing something and to keep them from ########. The way it works by the time they don't pay you you have forgotten about it.

On the positive side of the Ledger, here are my totals for my trip. Stayed out 9/23-10/16 (24 days). 11,269 paid miles on 12 loads. Average Length of haul was 939.08 (my longest avg yet) and average paid miles per day was 469.54 (also my best). Hmmm..........longer length loads...........more miles per day avg................Hmmmm...........

P.S. I DID get reimbursed the $133 for truck cleaning scam......I pushed the issue firmly. I swear I turned the old truck in in MUCH better condition than it was issued to me......

Those are very good numbers esp on an e-log. 469 miles per day must have been in low traffic areas and many drop and hooks. doing 3300 miles on an e-log very impressive. hmmm

Yes I am on e-logs and I wish it was that good every time out. But 11,000 - 11,500 monthly has been my norm in the industry so far, always on e-logs. I treat my trips like a military deployment. I play when I come home. Burnt out hasn't got to me YET.......but I do tend to become quite cranky entering my 3rd week out...

You are exactly right. Problem is many of the offenders negotiate with Crete to get extra time, then don't pay anyway. Crete does not have the bal.. ...I mean guts to call them on it.

My miles were always better, or at least I had more hours left after the few miles I was blessed with when I was on e-log. When I was training to e-log, but the legal log was paper, my paper log always had 2 or more hours less than my e-log at the end of the 8 days....logging to the minute and actual time for fueling instead of a 15 minute minimum helps, especially when they force you to fuel where and as often as they tell you to do. I kinda wish Poly would go e-log...but they would lose a bunch of older drivers if they did.

I usually fill out the detention forms and promptly forget about it. I find that if I dwell on it, the delay makes me angry and frustrated. But the upside is when they actually do pay and you have a surprise in your paycheck from time to time. It happens to me quite often. I got $97 last week. I have received as much as $240 in the past. So fill out the form. It just takes a few minutes. Then forget about it!
