If the new ones were Internationals, my understanding is that we're gettin' 'em for next to nothing. I'm in a Cascadia with 333k, and hoping I can drive it for quite some time.

Update on my week....turned in 3300 last week, including a little carryover from the previous week. Doing a little 400-miler right now that delivers at 0900 20 miles from my house (where I sit right now), then I'll come back and take off until Friday morning. Only gonna submit 400 this week, but I'm still on track for 10k+ this month.

Got my truck serviced at Lenoir City. I'm going to try to have all my work done there. Six things on my list....all done correctly in just over 24 hours from turn-in to release. "A" service, On-Guard out of kilter, alignment and one new steer, get bunk heater working better, new wiper blades, and brakes on the front drive axle.

In August, I had a "B" done at Lincoln. They replaced the steer axle brakes and the rear drive axle brakes. I questioned the tech about the axle he didn't do, and he replied "they're fine".

Sure. OK. But I'm not gonna argue.

When I get with the tech working on my truck at Lenoir City, I asked him about the brakes in question.

    "They're about gone", he says.

I give him the info about Lincoln, and he just shakes his head. :biggrin_2552:

    Have a safe week everyone!

You get the NYC pay if you have a load that picks up or has a final delivery in one of the 5 boroughs or on Long Island. I got it once, on a load that had a stop in Brooklyn, after complaining. The pickup was Jacksonville, FL and the final was Providence, RI. They did not pay it when the trip paid, but after I complained, they paid it the next week.

Volvo, you wouldn't make it in a Poly truck...because they break down more often than that. My primary truck is in the shop for the 2nd time in 3 weeks, and the loaner truck I'm driving (with almost 700k) has a coolant leak and the trans temp gauge quit...I don't see tons of gear lube pouring out, so I am guessing it is the sensor since it just got out of the shop from a B svc and then having the majority of the front clip replaced. A Poly plant employee ran a stop sign on the plant property and almost totaled it when the mechanic was returning it to the truck line after the B svc.

It seems so many companies are suffering these newer trucks and the breakdowns

Always something to do with the DEF/Regen system

My KW wasnt able to complete 2 whole runs without malfunctioning

Wonder why their hasnt been a class action suite against these manufacturers ,its gotta hurt a company not having the trucks running

The suit should be filed against the federal govt. The epa mandated these engines didn't give give the manufactures enough time to design and test these engines. When the ruling was made they had about 1 year to design and test the new engines before they where forced into service by epa emission standards.

My wife and I are set to head back out tomorrow morning. Hometime was miserable and draining. 90+ temps with 100% humidity all 4 days. Not a breath of a breeze either. No longer conditioned for this environment running OTR.

I sometimes wonder if the problems with the def filter are exaggerated by the trucks being turned down. maybe if they were allowed to run they would work better, not sure if it would matter, just wonder.

I know mine was in the shop three times for the DPF and smoking badly. In all three instances the ONLY thing the shops did was to do a parked re-gen. But since the light has to trip or they have to hook a computer to the thing to do a parked re-gen, I just kept driving mine hoping the light woould come on. Well the parked re-gen light never came on but it stopped smoking:yes2557: So I kept driving!

I've heard that's generally the case, actually.

Turning them down 1) doesn't save fuel and 2) means excessive lugging. Lugging isn't good for an engine. All this "you don't need more than 1600 RPM" BS is just that...BS.

My new truck is very sluggish with throttle response above 56. It's like someone hits a switch. I suspect the bean counters found another way they think they can save fuel. If I roll my eyes as hard as I want to, I might rip my optic nerves out.

I've really got to buy my own truck, I'm not sure how much longer I can stand this company BS, and they all do it.

Anybody else getting stuck with bogus appointment times? Second time in the last week I have shown up for a late night apptmt. And the place is closed. Also had another appointment that had me showing up an hour earlier than they opened.
