My Crete recruiter claimed opt idle is like a Apu. Which tells you alot about who they hire to recruit

I woulda laughed at him/her, mumbled "what an idiot" half under my breath, then hung up...the problem is, some of these new drivers fresh out of seat warming school would believe it, then be pissed once they found out they're nothing alike.

Now that I have been with Crete for a few months...
My first 2 months were awesome, with several TAKE HOME paychecks over $2k. Month 3 was so/so but not too bad. The last 2 months have been dismal. That 80k projection is now down below 60k based on the last 2 months. It's not that they are not dispatching the miles, it's all the off the wall stuff that keeps happening that prevents me from making those miles. Breakdowns, mandatory safety meetings, random drug tests (3 in the first 3 months), shippers that cant seem to find product to load for over 24 hours, etc. The list goes on.... I'm not such a happy camper any more and looking for greener pastures. [STILL PISSED OFF about being put on a Cpap machine]

My miles have tanked as well. Only turned 8600 miles last month and won't make the mileage bonus this quarter. My problem has been nothing but short, unproductive b.s. runs that live load and live unload so I am burning my clock up for nothing. That, and Op's can't get their poop straight when sending preplans...shows live loads or live unloads with set appointment, then turns out later to be drop/hook that you could have done much earlier. That, and this virtual PTA crap needs to stop.

Nothing really wrong with that. They pay well and have good benefits. They have to save money where they can.

If you've ever had to fight to keep your truck from shutting down at a long red light or in stop and slow go traffic, you would see what a PITA it is gonna be. My last company had a 2 minute idle timer that didn't care if you were in gear or brakes released, 2 minutes and 1 second, it shut off...then #####ed at you for shutting down in gear.

My tolerance for putting up with occasional ######## is directly proportional to the amount of money I am making.

My overall really negative attitude has been toned down quite a bit by a $.06/mi pay raise in the last 2 weeks...that and getting a better piece of equipment with a manual gear box helped too.

I've dealt with the same issue. When the light started flashing I talked the brake pedal or hit the override button. Just something you have to get used to.
