I would log 15-20 min, then off duty...then tell them to prove that I was working on the dock longer.

    I'm right there with you...

What does Walmart entail? I go to DC every once in a while but for me it's a regular unload.
A friend had a recruiter hit him up saying Crete pays 100k a year and I figured I'd ask if that's true and if you have different tasks than a regular driver has.

$100k/yr for a new hire is a recruiters pipe dream. I am with the Shaffer side of the company, which makes $.02/mi more than the Crete side.(because we have to deal with the extra b.s. of temp control freight and equipment) I have been back with them 18 mos. Last year I ran almost 130k miles and grossed $87k. What they aren't telling you is that, when they say the top 50% make over $100k, they include all the profit sharing and 401k contributions in with their earnings. And it's also those drivers that have been with the company long enough to be at the max CPM. A newly hired driver, even with experience and a limited number of previous employers won't make anywhere near $100k for many years unless they live in the truck 24/7/364(1 day off for Christmas) and never go home.

I don't mind the deliveries to Walmart DC ...the Walmart I don't do...is when Crete has you going from DC to Walmart stores then back to DC ...for weeks at a time...this sometimes has long wait times between loads ...not very profitable for driver...if I wanted to do strictly Walmart loads...I'd drive for Walmart

I did the North Platte once. Then about two months later they tried to send me to Chicago for the same thing. I told her to get me to the yard I’m renting a car and going home. She talked someone else into it…

I can understand that they need to cater to their regular drivers, but sitting and waiting for the short runs because that’s what’s left is unaceptable.
The last time at Cheyenne I averaged less than 300 miles a day.

I don't like Cheyenne at all. Low miles. I don't mind doing N Platte, helping there right now. Miles are pretty good there. I'll be at least 2800 this week, and sat one day getting the truck serviced. Plus it's an extra $.04 plus stops

Me thinks Crete is playing with numbers....they say top 50% make over $100k per year ...but don't say the total number of drivers doing that....using Crete math ..if out of the 4 top drivers..2 make over 100k...that would be 50 % of the top drivers..and over 100k might be possible...if those 2 drivers were trainers that mile run students in to the ground.....or husband and wife team on dedicated run..and if you also included, paid vacations, medical and profit sharing...into drivers total yearly income
