I got called in to pee-pee in a cup. I guess it was about time that my number came up.
I can see myself becoming more and more jaded here. I'm now wondering why they sent me a preplan ahead of my unload. I'm at a grocery place with a live/lumper unload and they sent me a live load preplan that picks up 30 miles away three hours after my scheduled dock time. Normally I wouldn't mind accepting but I've been to this cons before. A two hour unload then a two hour stack/count isn't unheard of here. I asked my AM if I should accept or leave it for now? His response "Keep us updated on your unload process"....ok question remains; should I accept or leave it till I know more about my unload. I've gotten to the point I consider their every move as some form of manipulation so I have to CYA myself against everything they do.

I m on YouTube watching vids and the CCC ad comes on just prior to the start of my video selection ....CCC is stating they have one of the lowest turn over rates in the industry

Is this true ?
I heard it was very very high
.......... ?
just curious -
Just because your paranoid doesn't me you aren't right too.stungjoe Thanks this.

More of these places need to learn how to sign "subject to count" and cut us loose after they pull the product off our trailers.
Accept the preplan and advise them that it may take longer than the standard 2 hours to get unloaded.stungjoe Thanks this. -
Industry-average turnover is well over 100%. Crete's is fairly well under that, but far from the lowest, anymore.

true dat!
Finally after an hour my AM says to accept it but keep me informed about unload.GabeScott Thanks this. -
You are starting to sound the same as I did when I was there. Guess it wasn't me after all

no, not just you for sure. I need to start making myself happy again (no not like that...dirty minds!). I am working toward a future that doesn't involve so much stress. I still see driving as an enjoyable way of earning a living but I think it's in a different form than it is as present. We'll see what the future holds. I do still believe that Crete was an excellent start and they did teach some valuable lessons in this business. I'm glad I chose them over some of the others I was looking at. I do think they're a very good fit for a lot of drivers out there.
EDIT: About the time I sent a message to my AM about them taking forever to unload...I got a green light! Turns out they didn't wait to re-stack the load they just counted and let me go! So now I'm sitting at my next shipper's where they just now lowered the plate to start loading me. At least I know the cons will be a drop. I think in the last four or five loads I've done I have filled out 6 or 7 detention sheets!xlsdraw Thanks this. -
Average length of haul is everything. When I started in 2005 the fleet avg was nearly 1100 miles. That's pretty hard to beat.Last edited: Jun 6, 2014
