Joe...yeah. I was fresh out of school. Went with a trainer that just used me for miles. Turned low miles because of winter and still getting acclamated. Only turned 4k miles in Feb because of snow and breakdowns....still doesn't mean he can treat me like dirt. Was forced to go with trainer because I followed dms directions on when to leave and lost was late (meat load) when got back from trainers truck. Went home. 4 days later got a call from another company. 1st day back and got 26 mile load to deliver. While planning my company calls inviting me to orientation. Sent qc I quit, begged me to deliver first. Was feeling generous, delivered, dropped truck in yard said adios

I did a two stopper to Sioux Falls and Aberdeen, SD out of North Platte last month. Had to pull those little tags off the pallets and then place them on that sheet to document that the product was actually delivered. Then, of course, Wal-Mart demands that your paperwork be scanned in within 12 hours subsequent to being delivered.

that is precisely why I balked at Walmart loads. 1st time I "helped" it was in Tobyhanna, PA...worked 4 days using anywhere from 8.5 -11 hours a day(mostly in/out of joisey)...got paid for 3. After going totally ballistic I got half of what I was owed...then within months I was in Lincoln for my attitude and internet posting intervention.

even Tonn has a boss...Mr. Acklie. Mr. Acklie is religious man and if the head of his company acted so unprofessional and undignified...bring it to his attention (if you can find him) and it will be resolved.

If my AMM would have ever used any foul or demeaning language...I wouldn't hesitate to burn their playhouse down. When I had my intervention meeting with 2 vp's...it opened up opportunities to a higher level than the "manager" position. I wouldn't even speak to managers...I would go right over their head from the get go.

Anybody ever get forced into working out of Sterling, Il. when Crete still had that DC? I managed to avoid it but one time I had to drive half way from Eau Claire to Columbus before they realized I was serious about quitting rather than go to that hellhole.

Hearing the news of the abrupt New Century shutdown makes me glad I work for a debt-free company.

They tried to pull that Walmart "Pop Up" crap on me last week.... it has been 4 or 5 yrs since my last duty which was at Raymond, NH. Told em this time that $250 a day or miles is what I would need. That was not an option so I was given a nice 1100 mile run instead :biggrin_25525: (A source at Walmart was amazed at Crete just paying Pop Up drivers 175 a day when Walmart pays out a grand per day per trk to the companies)

driving for Crete is a smart choice. They will be here for years to come. Unfortunately you gotta roll with the bad times as well as the good. I quit several years ago and now drive local for an even bigger company (J.B. Hunt). These smaller companies with no cash on hand should be made to inform their employees of their situation and credit standing at the time of hire.
