Stevens is easy...wait for an uphill...not sure if they have a scooter engine or are just geared for flatland...but their trucks won't pull hills, unless it is one of their lease trucks. As a Creten, I could usually get around, even with the Maxxfarce

oh come on now! I passed one just today. Good thing it was on the Ohio turnpike where it's three lanes :biggrin_25525:

Anyways I made it to New Kingstown for the night. I guess I will never learn about the parts guy here but I just had to go ask him a question. I never understand why people are so hateful towards one another. I guess he was perturbed about me interrupting his texting on the phone. But I waited politely till he finished :dontknow: I needed to get to the CVS pharmacy and due to a wreck on I-81 I didn't make it till after the office closed so no car. SO I take off walking and see a couple of guys in the parking lot. One in a truck the other in a pick up with PA plates. So I ask them if they know where it is and they did. The feller in the truck offered to gimme a ride so I hopped in. I will admit I am a FREAK when it comes to keeping my truck clean. This guy not so much :biggrin_25512: But he was very nice in giving me a ride the 1.2 miles to the CVS. I told him I would walk back since I need the exercise anyway. The other guy in the p/u turns out to have been that driver's AM. The driver showed me a note on his Qcom from the AM. Suffice to say, they know the problems with the shop personnel here in NK...haha

That's one place that makes me look like a lovey-dovey nice guy instead of the hateful S.O.B. that I am for real.:biggrin_25525:

I had an all day drop in South Carolina today, I slept in to miss Charolotte traffic. It worked too. But no empty trls. I wait about an hour and head out to run some errands.
Dispatch tells me they called the customer to get me an empty so I can get "that" preplan. I figure it's another short load. I tell them I'm in no hurry for a load, maybe I'll check on the empty in the morn. So, I goof off some more.
I get back to the truck later and they told me to bobtail to the shipper, and a nice 1218 mile run to Kansas for Monday morning. What a shocker!!
So, I have a Saturday night in Little Rock. That's real rare. Last time Jimmy Doyle was on vacation. I hope he's there this time.(He's a country singer)

that preplan is York to Hope Mills, NC so it's a start towards home. I forgot that 2111 run includes (or better) 55 miles to get the truck serviced. It's the second longest run I have ever had even if they don't pay me the 55 miles.

Funny thing about the preplan. In the load instructions it says to send a canned 15 asking about outbound load or if you will need an MT. So I send the message with details about staging in NK tonight and can del anytime tomorrow. Not 2 minutes after I send the message they say grab an MT. I doubt they even looked for a load but I don't know that. 15 minutes later my AM chimes back to see if I can del today. I could but would have maybe 45 minutes left on my 70 and there's no place in York to park(that I could find). An hour later my AM sends me the preplan from the very place I deliver. I tell ya having an "on the ball" AM can make or break you here. I'm glad mine trains some of the new guys. Hopefully they will all be better in the future.

sounds like the load guessers need some bar time practicing throwing darts....after all, that is how they plan. All the trip numbers go on sticky notes on a cork board....all the truck numbers go on darts....20 paces and......throw. if it hits, you get a load, if it misses, your dart goes back to the end of the row....it's called the short bus operations system.:biggrin_25519:
