Well, I just finished up my 10 AM appointment in New London, WI. Yep, it was 5:30 PM when they finished. Turns out they swapped my appointment with another Shaffer driver, and unloaded him at my 10 AM time...the butt hole receiver never told anyone. The first shift guy was a real pain in the ___(not neck). Second shift was the one who told me I had a 3 PM appt...and I then figured out what happened.

Anyway, I am on a load from Beaver Dam, WI to Sandston, VA which has too short of time, so I am now (after wasting the day in New London) going to have to drive overnight to have any chance of getting there. Also down to 5.5 hours on my 70 clock again. I gain 10 hrs each of the next 2 days, so that will end up OK.

Now waiting until 7:30 PM to get a new 14 hour clock, then go to shipper and arrive about 9 PM (load time was 0800-1700). Dispatch says it is on a spot trailer, I hope so. Today was aggravating...have not had a day like this in a long time.

my biggest issue with them wasn't the length of haul...it was the timing of those hauls. They would give a 700 mile load, but 2 or 3 days...and expressly forbid changing the appointment or drop date(like on a Wally). Then, it would be after your delivery before they preplanned on a load that you couldn't do. Cannot count the times that they insist you get the load dropped asap, then once you were empty 1st thing in the morning give you an afternoon pick up you couldn't do because of your 14...but had they warned you ahead of time about the p/u time, you could have adjusted your delivery time enough to at least get the next load picked up.

Give it some time may be the right answer xls... My average is around 650-700. In that average I get short runs like my current one (250 miles) and much longer runs as well (4 in the last month 1200+ one of which was 2300). One thing I can say is my weekly totals are all over the place but I always manage to average 11-13k on the month.
