But it's exactly like P+G to be problematic. Those guys and General Mills are hit and miss... either it's painless or a giant pain in the rear end. No in between.

I agree with this! I can't count the number of times I have sent in messages asking for a preplan the night before when I had an all day drop. One time I was within like 15 minutes of a Target asking for a preplan the night before. I was actually told it was too much trouble/work for them to do that. So I went in according to my PTA and sure enough they send me a preplan that's a live load and picks up 90 miles away but it's in less than an hour from my MT call. Had they told me the night before I could have done that load.

Anyway, I'll be heading out tomorrow for yet another adventure!

Ran into a fun little situation today. Got a load assignment to pickup a preloaded trailer at Pactiv in Bolingbrook this afternoon. I check in and the guy in the cage (their shipping clerk) tells me "uh... you're still showing as loading in progress". After I inform him that I was not the other Crete driver live-loading on the lot and here to pick up a preloaded trailer (for the second time) he calls the supervisor on the other side of the warehouse... Come to find out he's 1 skid away from finishing the trailer. 5 minutes tops. I go drop my empty on the yard in the meantime and when I get back he hands me a BOL with all the right numbers and info. The only problem is they loaded it on a Schneider container instead of a Crete trailer and he's now insisting that there's no mistake, "We do this all the time. You're dropping at final, don't worry about it". He says go get the trailer and bring me back the BOL signed on the way out. I call dispatch from outside and surprise surprise "we don't pull Schneider trailers". Well no ####. Fast forward 4 hours and they've finally offloaded the container and loaded it on the empty I brought in. And the kicker is I won't be getting detention pay because I showed up at 1900 when the pickup window was 2100-2359. I love my job...

Passed by Crete central this afternoon....and no, no temptation to exit and pull in. I guess I have Crete completely out of my system. I waved (sorta...well, at least a part of me waved). It was right at quitting time, I had hoped my old buddy Tonn was just leaving and would wave back...but he wasn't :biggrin_255: ...maybe next time

that's probably where that occasional missing trailer you all get a message about goes. Only they load someone elses freight on a Crete trailer and the other company's driver takes their word for it and hauls it on Crete's trailer...then it's not where Lincoln's computer says it is.

Hit the lottery, well sorta. 1459 miler that delivers Saturday morning in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Won't have any hrs left on Saturday after delivery so Sunday morning I'll be subject to weekend dispatch. This nice load brought average dispatch up to 568.9. Only another 100 to climb.

Should have stopped in. They would have seen you coming, panicked and ran. Would have looked like a scene from The Purge.

They probably have face recognition software for the security cameras that automatically locks the doors when it sees me coming.:biggrin_25524:

I wish you best xls. I've told my story before I was getting horrible miles with Shaffer so I left. While I miss my freightliner, had 52 miles when I got it, don't miss anything else. One of the biggest benefits where I am know is they preplan you ahead of time so always know where you are going next. Only had to sit once waiting for a load here and that was because coming off ht there were no mts and apparently none in the area so was going to miss a live load so had to wait for another load
