I made the delivery in Elkton, MD this morning, I had been thinking it was a 0730 delivery, but when I rechecked the load info, it said 0930. I got to sleep in a little longer. Arrived at 0830 and got a door and unloaded right away. Then the problems kicked in...I was unloaded and had signed bills by 0930 (my appt time), but they had 2 damaged cases they refused. Cargill product, so can't just toss it...it took them 3 hours to decide that it would be OK to toss it...but they wanted me to take the labels off and send them in. Told them the labels kinda got shredded when I tried to take them off, so they said forget it. The 3 hour delay caused me to be late for pickup at my next load though...a 1400 pickup in Chambersburg, PA (3 hrs from Elkton). Got here at 1530 and am sitting in a dock waiting. Supposed to deliver at 0930 tomorrow down in Abingdon, VA, but I have a sneaking suspicion I will not be making that, although it may depend on whether the receiver has overnight parking.

If I get tonights load in by midnight Friday, I will end week with 3,275 miles. If it doesn't get in until Saturday, still have 2,757 as of right now.

10 hours and 28 minutes driving 638 miles today.

Sitting at the first rest area inside Texas eating some limited edition Chobani grapefruit Greek yogurt...yumm; tangy to say the least!

Ihope to make it to Flagstaff tomorrow (a 650+ mile run) but I may only make Winslow (about fiddy miles less).

EDIT: Bad news is I will only have 2507 this week Good news is I will have 2372 miles by Sunday around noon..haha

you know that old Pilot in Winslow(next to Wally) isn't a truck stop anymore don't ya'? It's an abandoned building. There is a Flying J around that area, but the place that bought the Pilot closed down

Took a little drive in a hot asphalt tanker while I was home but they aren't offering very much for a job that's seasonal in my area.
I have an 1800 appointment at Kellogg's in Lewisville tomorrow. Been there a couple of times but always as a drop and hook.
Haven't been to Wilmer in a while, hope I can find my way in.

I looked into a similar job a few months back, but could take an annual pay cut of 15k. Wilmer is still easy to get into...just follow the frontage road down the east side of the facility...the gate is in the SE corner of the lot.

    Thanks!
I was heading to the one on the east side of town at x255. I think you're talking about the one at 253. But I do hope I can make Little America in Flagstaff. Maybe if I stop a bunch of times I can make the Pilot on the other side of Flagstaff at x185 :biggrin_25525:

I would stay at little america every day, over any pilot... even pay for a nice hot bath.... yes the truckers showers have both a tub and a shower...

Well, color me flabbergasted. I just pulled into the Petro in Avoca, and there's plenty of parking available. Apocalypse must be upon us.

I also have a hell of a toothache that's really kicking my ### today. Probably not going to sleep for #### tonight.

Unless you're planning on getting into Bellemont (the Pilot just west of Flagstaff) before about 4pm or so don't bother. You'll never get a space. That Pilot is a permacluster. Little America is by far the better option anyway facilities-wise.
