    It's the cold.

That sounds normal for a maxforce.

Yesterday was a fun day. Plowed around in the snow in Youngstown, OH making a delivery (actually in Lordstown) and then had to run up to Sandusky to make a pickup...roads were horrible and saw jackknifed truck on the Ohio Turnpike. Lucky for me it was Eastbound and I was Westbound. I called the shipper for better directions, and again, luck on my side...they stayed to load me, since I called they knew I was coming...the manager had told them to go home. Got that loaded and headed for Romeoville, IL. Parked at the Petro near Gary and got snowed on about 4 inches overnight (lake effect stuff). Today is mostly clear and sunny, but cold...-5 when I got up and the heatwave has it up to 5 now.
I am in Wheeling, IL picking up a load for Statesville, NC. Hopefully out of the snow and cold for a bit. I told them I need to get to DeLand, FL to pick up my 2014 permits.

That'll mean the only freight they'll have is headed to Cali...I'm suprised that they didn't send your permits to your house. That is what they always did for me if they didn't see me before the end of the year...or at least hear from me to make arrangements to send them to a different terminal.

They used to send them to me when I was home over Christmas. I have taken vacation over Christmas every year. The last few years they would not do it, and I never even called to ask this year. Last year I got them to send them to Columbus on Jan 30...and that took some extra calls. I had been headed for Indy, but Rae would not send them there...finally Nancy sent them to Columbus...and told Rae afterward.

Sitting.....well rocking....in South Beloit tonight. The winds are a steady 20mph and gusts up to 30+ :biggrin_2555:
Been fighting the wind all day. No matter which direction I was heading the wind was always at a cross with me! It was sort of amusing seeing the oncoming trucks leaning so much when I was crossing Minnesota on 14. Good thing I have a pretty heavy load in the trailer.

Once again however I have an extra half day. Del. is 0830 Sunday but I will be there tomorrow at 1500. Since there's available parking I'm heading on in ASAP. I might get lucky :biggrin_25525:

Camping at the Wilco-Hess in Jackson, GA, on my way to the Wal-Mart DC in Arcadia, FL where I will deliver tomorrow afternoon, after delivering a couple of short ones earlier today.
