It's always nice when things work out, and them office types actually do what they tell you they will do!

Yeah, the trucks are not the best, since they throttle them back and I feel it affects the way the run. I have never had problems getting home...when I was taking my time off in Florida or now when I take most of my time off in Central Illinois. If I am scheduled for time off (vacation or ETO) I will not accept a load that does not work for getting me there, unless they agree it will be t-called somewhere, and have another load getting me home on time (or the t-call is in East St. Louis and I go from there). I stay out here longer than I have to, and when I want to go home, I am going home. There is one planner that I will possibly make an exception for, though, but I will be home within a day even in that case.

Th-F-Sa-Su-M is five days. I was planning on four. Fortunately, I won't need six as the house isn't falling down. Yet.

And I've got my marching orders for tomorrow...pick up in Florence, SC headed to Battle Creek. Rock Tenn.

Back to MI again though....#### well better not be the trend again....

But it starts with a Th...perhaps a larger font on the screen would help...it helped me (I don't need glasses as long as they keep making these phones bigger and bigger :biggrin_25520:)

Hey guys! Well I had my first full day on the job. Started out sweet with a flat tire on the trailer. :biggrin_2557:The tire guy was there pretty darn quickly for 0600 and I was on my way. I went 70 miles to pickup my trainer because all of the wells and the offload were down in his neck of the woods. We got our first load with no hick-ups. It was one of the more modern lact units. Our second load was way down a lease road and a more primitive load. It had some of the nasty ol black crude. So we get back to the same offload place and guess what? Another flat! After waiting for a couple of hours for the tire guy to get way out in the boonies we had to call it a day.

I drove 365 miles today and even at the flat hourly training rate I made more than OTR. My trainer showed me how to figure his pay....let's just say I was impressed but he was bummed. We had been dispatched to do 4 loads. I could only imagine what he would have made had we not had the flats today.

I think this will be my home for a while. The people here, both office and drivers, really do treat me with respect and I feel like things will work out just fine.

So, you're saying I should get an all-terrain tire truck and head for Texas. I will finally find my fortune in Texas!

haha from the looks of the tire guy this afternoon, working in this heat is brutal! We were sitting in the cab with the engine running and the A/C on :biggrin_25519:
