When I quit a year ago, they only had 1 shift, and when I turned in my truck there was 1 mechanic and the shop foreman on duty that day. It's a shame too, Deland use to have one of the better shops for getting work done right, and quick.

As far as the Maxxfarce...the don't even make a good barge anchor like their predecessor (Cat). But if there is no mechanical reason for your Jakes not working...if you use them as International recommends, they aren't bad. I pull 40-45k out west a lot, and I have used the Jake to fall of most of the mountain passes in 10 of the western 11 and never smoked a brake. International recommends running your Jake between 1700-2200 rpm for maximum braking power. I just came down Cabbage between 45 and 55 mph with 43425 lbs, and touched my brakes 3 times to keep from exceeding 2200.

10 posts deleted. Infractions issued. That's enough. No more insults, or any condescending cheap shots towards those with lesser experience. Another episode like what just went on here in the last 3 pages, and this thread will be locked.

    Carry on.

I know the Cummins and dd13 has a better Jake effect at lower rpms. I'm pretty sure anything over 1700 rooms rings bells on the Qualcomm, so I don't let it go that high.

Supersnackbar - it's been updated (just curious... is the next logical step that we go on a date now since you've been checking me out? :biggrin_2556:)

It shouldn't matter how long my profile says i've been doing this. I have experience from working my entire life which has qualified me to be able to provide some perspective.

It is not the years of experience that counts but the experience in your years. When you are hungry for knowledge you can learn a wealth of things.

UPDATE: Just saw what the MODs posted. I'm gonna leave it at this so that this thread doesn't get locked.

Thank you. I'd rather not, but we can't have this or any other thread turning into a big bickerfest.

That is the purpose of that info, so fellow posters can get a brief perspective of the person posting..had it shown an accurate reflection of your experience, then the posts that were demeaning wouldn't have been posted because the other poster would have realized you were more experienced....but about that date...can I bring my wife...we don't get out much:biggrin_25520:

Unless they changed, I never had them say a word about over RPM's on the Q/C. I was waiting on them to say, but it was their DVD instructions they made me watch that said to run the rpms up on downgrades to maximize the braking power, but they never said a word.

Someone else told me They never got complaints either, maybe it's true. Still would rather have a Cummins, lol.
