hey guys! Well I got the call today. My boss asked me if I was ready to be on my own. My trainer already gave him the thumbs up so I told him I was ready as well. I get two days off then on Sunday I go out on my own. I've been doing everything already I just had a watchful eye making sure I didn't screw up. Now I won't have that safety net. I remember my first trip out on my own with Crete and I feel about the same. I know I will triple check everything before doing it. My first week is a single dispatch and 509 mile round trip every day. I've done it the last two days so i know the route. The most important thing is "no oil on the ground"![]()

Lincoln sent me a message and a preplan, then called me. Seems they would like me to tcall my load in Fontana and turn it into a pos shag for someone else. The reset continues here, my goal is to make Barstow, possibly even Histeria tomorrow,

I'm in Denver and I'm a Shaffer driver. What in the world is going on?
What kind of miracle is this?
Someone pinch me, for once I'm not in Pennsylvania or New York. lol48Packard and crappiejunkie Thank this. -
Don't worry freightwipper I'm sure they'll find you a nice Budweiser load to take back east and all will return to normal. I'm on the dry side and have been lucky enough to run out west for a bit... after doing my last WY to KS load I figured they'd run me east like always and they did but with a detour: load of empty bottles back to Fort Collins I get to deliver in the am and a follow on Budweiser load out to PA. The miles are good but I get the feeling that (as usual) I won't see I35 or west until I go home again at the beginning of October.

Short version: I finally had had enough, and spoke (after a few back-and-forths over the QC) with an Ops Mgr. After really looking at my recent months, he agreed that I had a valid concern, that being pigeonholed north of I-70. We will see how the next few weeks go.
Unfortunately, it is not my biggest problem. Personal life is about to unravel, I fear...not pretty. If I'm not around for a bit, keep a good thought for me if you would. -

Is it really a "special load" or is it they don't have enough Shaffer drivers to cover an account... that is the question.paul_4lp Thanks this.
