I was looking over my miles for my first outing since my medical leave. Not bad really. Week one was 2471 miles with two days lost (breakdown). Week two was 3059 miles and week three was 3040 miles.

My back could use some rest. For some reason I was really hunching over while driving. Either I never noticed it before or it's something I need to notice more...and stop doing it! This seat also seems rather unsupportive. There are lumber bags but no bolster bags. Both of my old trucks had the extra air switches on the side.

I got my Sirius/XM installed now so I won't being entertaining myself with my own thoughts :biggrin_25520: Now I will be disgusted that every commercial has to give the phone number at least three times in a row :biggrin_25516: I did miss my Mike Church Show.

After a lot of whining I got a load from Atlanta to Southern California, it's got plenty of time on it so I can goof off. Thinking of stopping in Albuquerque and seeing Walter White's house.

Thinkin' I'm gonna have to start a lot of whinin' myself.

I have had one run of more than 800 total miles in the last two, maybe three months.

I, too, get quite disgusted with that. 60 second commercial, 15 seconds promoting the product and 45 seconds of some windbag repeating a phone number a billion times. Personally, I refuse to buy a product that has annoying commercials like that...but then again I don't need debt consolidation, acne creams, or extra testosterone....

Anyone know how soon after the 1 year mark you can either take the week's vacation or cash it in? Anyone know if the Average load length is longer or not at Shaffer than Crete? If so, anyone know what is involved in moving from Crete to Shaffer? Like Volvo244t, I'm weary of trying without any success, to get Crete to share Any of their longer runs with me. There is a reefer outfit down here that does Long Haul and comparable pay to Crete/Shaffer. I have finally closed down the gap of employment window to their standards. If Crete continues to run me short on this burn-out system, I'll have to make a move.

I believe you're entitled to vacation the day of your anniversary. You can accumulate vacation time and money but once you cash it in you have one year to take the time off..or not take the time off.

    Not sure about the miles.

Well, that's odd. Guess someone in Lincoln caught on to my external keyboard use somehow. None of the 3 keyboards I have in the truck are currently working when plugged into the Qualcomm, suddenly. Worked yesterday.

Which is odd...because it's the weekend, so only dispatch and road service are there.

My QUALCOMM updated itself Friday afternoon, maybe that did it?? I got the MCP 200, I glue McDonald French fries to my fingers when I type a lot, you know, telling them I'm not in a daycab and maybe the reason for the back room means maybe I should run longer loads.
Maybe I wasn't due to complain yet since my last 2300+ run was the middle of Nov, but a lot of short runs since then, minus the 9 days broke down and a lot of hometime. But this load is relaxing, not hitting a dock til Thursday morning.

when I was part of the Crete family, I didn't wait until my anniversary date to pre-set my requested time. It would be July or August and I would have Deland set my vacation up for Christmas and my anniversary was Thanksgiving week. As for cashing out...I think you have to take 1 week off(or that's the way it use to be) once you had multiple weeks, then you could cash in all but 1.

i never took a vacation, I sell them whenever I feel like it, never had a problem, they say I still have all the days I sold to take off whenever I feel like it. Thou they won't pay me again but I still have the time off building?
My last vacation I went to Jamaica and everyone was smoking pot, I had to turn it down sadly, even though I wasn't much of a pot smoker, but the forbidden fragrance smelled great.
