Still working on my GA to OR haul. 3 days and 1700 miles down, 2 1/2 and 1200 to go. I noticed something odd while crossing NE on 80 today. Just in the 3 1/2 hours it took me to get from Grand Island to Big Spring I passed probably 25 or so fellow Cretens heading in the opposite direction. Pretty normal for that stretch of highway. What wasn't normal was when I was able to count at least 8 of them with a headlight out and not a single one of those bothered to answer their CB when I tried to give them the heads up (or more likely just didn't have a CB or have it turned on). So my question is what gives? Did I miss one of those "weekly informational message do not reply" deals that tells us not to pretrip our trucks in NE anymore? I don't understand. As a side note most of them were what I assume to be our WM dedicated guys running east out of N. Platte pulling the blank sided WM trailers.

Also, I thought Pretrips were just for the DMV test..? -

We got a QC message earlier this week about a driver meeting in lincoln on the 25th, it wasn't a usual format message something extra as I see it. I think there is something coming down the pike or an announcement coming that they are having the meeting about. Guess we will see in time, I'm no where near lincoln to listen in

Did a brief stop at the Hunt yard in Omaha. Couldn't help but notice the black Towncar parked out back. Maybe a shuttle for tired drivers? Driver appreciation week indeed. Couldn't have been a drivers car, parked near the gravel lot and still clean.

I caught a dead headlight in my halfassed pretrip I manage. Replaced it and rolled
