Yesterday I got my appt time, I figured I'd keep the load, less bs.
it was 1,160 miles from Sunday to Friday morn, I can handle that.
today, I get the tcall at Stockton message, I try to keep the load.

i get parked at Ripon, YES!!!! Me in RIPON!!
and get a preplan to pick up down to the road, a few hours earlier, with a live unload that is impossible to make on time, and at a grocery warehouse.

i get the sad story that this is the second time they missed pickup on this load, so I say no to the preplan.
now i pickup tomorrow afternoon with a Friday delivery in Washington.
less than 500 extra miles, than if I kept my load.

I don't mind Pa as long as it doesn't involve driving thru I68 between Cheat Lake and Hancock to get there, that is my absolute least favorite stretch of road that I have been on in the lower 48. I actually enjoy twisty turny tight back roads, I used to live up Tn 30 off the Tn64 in Reliance..took the truck and trailer up there 2 times 2 extremely tight blind hairpin turns, fun stuff.. 20 minute ride up to the house from the Tn64 and it was only about 5 miles.

Wow, 10,390 with 7 days off.

I i like the new me, the one that wants to goof off and not tcall unproductive freight.

Same miles and really no stress.

it is nice to know that there are no Poly drivers in this state.

It'll be nicer tomorrow when my data plan resets. 11.5 gigs this month

So, I'm on my way to Cheyenne. They routed me up 287 to I-70. After seeing that most (all?) of 287 is 2-lane once out of Texas, I decided to take 87 to I-25 instead... adds 21 miles and keeps me on divided highway for all but 10 miles.

It was an excellent decision. Talk about a beautiful drive. And I get to add 2 new states to my list instead of just one. Booyah!

I run 287 all the time. Those of us that can run faster than 62 mph thank you for staying in the larger road. It's not bad running on US 287 unless you get stuck behind a slower truck.

I might take the cake in LEAST PRODUCTIVENESS ..... 35 miles yesterday, 126 miles today ! I had protocol explained to me about California from a dimwit of a ######### manager with less than a year with the company. You must run a shag before you get a longer load out of CA.....I told the intern that she was still in Jr High when I started driving for Crete and NO, that is not my protocol. They can all go to hell .....

great route, until monument hill gets hit with some snow, and all those front rangers don't know how to drive on snow. Heavy traffic and snow, even in colorado is a mess. And the wind blowing off of the Rockies on ice is no fun either in southern Colorado... Raton pass, fun bobsled run also...

but on a sunny day in the fall, a great ride. IMHO
