I bet you are right...that its just a tire pressure monitoring system........He also said....3 drivers have burnt up their 1500w inverters ...by running 110v fridge and microwave both ... at the same time

Traded my Freightliner at 521k. Cleaned it out and inspection was painless. Got into a new one. It does have an inverter, no camera. My first thought was along the lines of "Bank error in your favor..." Couldn't get the bunk heater to work, something about "no flame detected", not sure if there is a problem with the heater or if I'm just doing something wrong. My walk through with the shop was pretty brief. Never had elogs or Optidle before, hopefully my learning curve doesn't turn out to be a circle. So if the Qualcomm is cellular, I hope it's better than AT&T.

Is the new truck a mid-roof Freightshaker?

No, has a bunk. Pretty much the same as what I had. I thought it was a mistake at first but another solo driver was getting one also. Maybe the midroof thing is coming to an end?

Speaking with another Crete driver the other day, that is the impression I got.

As far as my plans after Crete....have a few t's to cross and i's to dot before I know anything for absolute certain. It's not earth-shattering by any stretch. But I'm hoping to achieve a little more balance in my life, along with perhaps a little more income. But if it were to not work out, I'd probably return to Crete. I'm intending to leave on the best terms possible.

Bad news...Qualcomm is.....drum roll please.....SPRINT.... (or that is what the Crete Qualcomm boss said when I had one with issues and we had to reset and reboot it). E-log, you'll hate it at first, then if you're like many of the rest of us, grow to love it. Opti-idle...some get use to it, some (like me) can't get a decent night sleep with it during extreme weather temps (high or low)

    48Packard and Onadetour Thank this.

does that Opti-Idle still measure the temperature outside the truck and NOT the inside.
The truck won't run for AC when it's like 68-70 out but over 100 degrees inside the truck. It's crazy!

Qualcomm, people net both use the cell network coverage for their systems... and they both use tier level 4 service, which means, that if there is unused bandwidth on the tower, then they may use it, but if a tier one customer needs the bandwidth, then the tier 4 customer gets dropped...

Tier 1 is the company that owns the tower, tier two are the companies that sign a reciprocal data sharing deal, tier three are other cell carriers who do not share bandwidth, and tier 4 are the other data devices.

and since cell towers are line of sight, parking under trees can and does block the signal..

I have lousy cell service where I live, and live in the trees. I have better qualcom service now than when we had satellite qualcom. With the satellite, I could hide from the bird, but now no matter where I park under my trees I have a connection.
