Left Marietta this morning, headed for La Porte, TX for Mon at 1300. I WS figuring things would go well at least into Louisiana...and I finally got one right. Bogged down in Baton Rouge, but made the Pilot at Breaux Bridge before my clock ran out...585 miles.

Heck of a way to spend a birthday....54. One more year and I get to say "senior coffee" at some places....

If you're delivering some kind of special roll paper to a freight forwarder at the port...check the bill's. If it says anything about needing the TWIC card, the bills are correct. I took a load in there when I was a Creten...op's assured me the card wasn't needed, but the freight forwarder disagreed. It cost Crete more than $200 for a TWIC carded security officer to escort me in, and they only accept cash, no Comchecks. Seemed like a scam to me, but they gave me a legitimate receipt for their services, and Crete didn't bat an eye at paying it. But it took me going in and making contact with them before Crete acknowledged the info on the b/l was accurate. Maybe they've had enough loads like that going in to expect it ahead of time.

And I'll never admit I am anything over 29...I just celebrate the anniversary of my 29th birthday every year.:biggrin_25520:

The pay may still be automatic, but after 4 hours, not 2 as had been the usual case. They just said automatic detention pay, no mention of time limits...
