I would go a year or more without one, then get "selected" 2 or 3 months back to back. I am guessing that maybe they think that some drivers may be doing drugs on a infrequent basis and they wait until after they're tested to 'celebrate' hoping to catch them. Always made me suspicious, but since I got paid for my time I didn't fuss to much...guess since they found someone who always passed, they could count on drivers like me to keep the statistics skewed in their favor. But it's the timing of things like that was the reason that once I got out of the truck on home time, I wouldn't mess with it until I was ready for duty.

I find that no freight in Ohio is a biggest bunch of garbage... This is one of the reasons why companies cannot keep drivers... Stop bs'ing them..

You guys waiting on freight...have you talked directly to the load planners? I used to become the squeakiest wheel known to mankind until I got a hold of the load planner and then I usually got moving. But then again it was very rare as I had a VERY good AM.

I'm only going to have 2 loads for the week. One was 1448 and the other one is 1588. I can't complain. I'll be in NY when I empty out though, so that might suck.

Msg 15 goes directly to the load planners, so I have been told. When I remember to use it, I generally have good luck. Case in point, today; used msg 15 to tell them I want to stay out west (I delivered in Utah) instead of a freeform like I habitually do, and I got a load to CA.

It'd been years since I got a random, last time was at Indy and I remember bragging about the head on my sample, like I'd make a great bartender.
Plus they can't check you for alcohol unless you're performing a safety sensitive operation

I got random alcohol tested by 'T'...safety never bothered to tell her it was random, just that a driver was coming in for a breathalyzer test. She had quite the attitude when I showed up, which prompted a bigger attitude from me. When she said blow in the machine until we get a reading, I said 00 is the only reading it'll show. After her snippy "we'll just see about that"...I blew a 00...then made a comment about her having me confused with one of her club hopping driver buddies. Since she seemed like she was always dressed somewhere between a strip club dancer and a truck stop #####...she had to be doing one or the other after work....she didn't speak to me again...ever...win-win

When we Poly drivers get randoms, it is always drug and alcohol, or at least it always been for me, which is kinda funny because other than Alieve or Ibuprofen I take nothing. Plus, I am so anti-alcohol, I only buy alcohol-free mouthwash.

I made it three years by a couple of days. Be sure to wait until you have your vacation pay earned. It turned out to be almost 2 grand when I cashed it all in.

The no west doesn't bother me, just as soon not go out there, or northeast. I do my best in the Midwest and southeast area. I don't think I went west of Lincoln for close to 6 months after I started. Have only been out west 5 or 6 times in my nearly 7 years here. Usually if I get out there I spend 5-7 days going back and forth north and south after I'm there. I spent a week in the hospital out there in 2009
