I've never had 4, most was 3 several times. You must have got some miles on this one...

The majority of times I got multiple fuel stops on long runs, over half weren't 'fill' I would get partial fill then the final one was a fill, but 7-800 miles from the delivery...so I wouldn't get a solution on the next load because reported fuel level on my empty call was so low it prompted the ole "call for solution" message.

One of the good things about weekend/night dispatch was that they were quick to give you a fuel solution at another place if you asked them for it. The day guys would always ask you questions and so forth. My AM never did give me any problems when I asked him to fuel somewhere else. Also another tidbit weekend dispatch divulged was you can get 50 gals at any of the majors and never get a red flag. So if you need that shower or parking for the pay lots you could snag 50 gal.s and no repercussions.

Forced fueling...one of the many things I DON'T miss about Crete.

I spoke to a "soon-to-be quitting" Crete at Poly's Physical/Drug test clinic the other day (he was getting his pre-hire physical and whiz test before coming over to us). He mentioned that Crete has been shaving miles, and felt that Crete had gone to Rand McNally miles rather than the practical miles they use to pay...is this true? Or was it just his gut feeling because he was getting the 'mushroom farm' or 'snackbar' treatment?

My miles allowed don't always equal miles driven even if I stick to their route. "Shaved" seems about right, enough to notice the difference but not worth fighting about.
The fuel gauge on my truck is pretty moody. Starts swinging between 3/8ths and the alarm buzzing if I get much below half. I've been doing the 50 gallon thing to shut it up. Also done it a couple of times when my scheduled solution was a complete cluster. If I call my terminal, I get an annoyed response and a grudging 50 gallon solution anyway.

I finished my reset at Wilmer this morning, said I was ready, they asked if I had an empty, nope. An hour later came the preplan. Bobtail to Ennis and deliver 622 miles northwest of Whitehall, MT. On Wednesday morning.
    2262 total miles.
I know I'll spend the night in Amarillo, even though the smart thing to do is run more miles today. Maybe I'll be smart and go to Dumass,
And I think the DOT put a Shaffer bobtail out of service at the northbound Hutchins scale.

I have been leaning on the SHAVING MILES THEORY ......June I hit an all time High for OOR Miles 7.8 for the month when usually I am in the 2-4 range. I have NOT been a busy-bee the past few weeks....2400 miles 2 weeks ago, than last week was 2100. All the ##* clowns at the plantation have no responsibility and collect a paycheck for zero expectations. I miss the days of Load Select !

Shaving Miles, but does Crete calculate by paid miles or suggested routing miles ? That is the quest....
Odd oysters in Amarillo today, but these are from the Rocky Mountains

Ran into a Crete driver in Billings at the J with a load from Ennis. He had a drop at Alside in Billings and a final in Spokane.
