You seen to forget that's not a choice when you work as a company driver.

yeah, what a thread? Let's do a line the next time we're off a couple days.
Those other posters should at least recognize you were right.

    I
I always volunteered. Number one NYC never bothered me. Number two it would get me home as I didn't live far.

Sure it is, you can quit! lol
or work somewhere where there's no NYC forced dispatch.

Shaffer never sent me into that garbage but they loved sending me to CT. I'm glad I'll never have to see that Yoplait plant ever again

I guess I am just a lonely Nancy boy who has to stay out 4 weeks at a time at a bottom feeder company. (while I am making good money, buying a new property, truck, and enjoying life.)

    tucker and Astoh Thank this.

I didn't take this as disrespecting, as for the staying as an employee, it's mostly my age, I plan on retiring in the next 4-5 years and just being an employee works best for me.. Have been my own boss before in other industries, and at this point just want to collect a check every week. I've done 125-128k miles every year I've been here, and am happy with that. I am actually trying to make 130k this year, and an on pace for that. I've had my share of truck issues as well in these years, but still keep reasonably productive.

As far as being a company driver...I would rather run 550 miles a day at $.50/hub mile than run 700 miles a day at $.40/practical/HHG mile. Why run harder when you can run smarter.

    tucker Thanks this.
