I have a friend looking for a company to pull for. I worked for Crete from May 2004 to July 2006. Are you saying that today they can force you to pull a refer?

How frequent are the short trips of less than 500 miles?

Are you saying that empty miles have increased and therefore there is less freight to pull in the country?

I've been asked to pull a reefer twice, never felt "forced".
Currently, loads have been mixed, I don't worry to much about sub 500 mile trips as long as total miles for the week work out. It just has seemed that for a while now, it's been harder to make things work out. Shorter loads, longer waits, more BS. From my point of view I don't think it's a "Crete" problem. I think a lot of people are having to work harder to maintain. If that's really what's happening I just wonder what the next few months will be like.
On the other hand, I tend to see the glass as half empty, so could just be the way I'm looking at it.

It is slow where I am at but it could be a competitor thing since I am LTL. Many layoffs and furloughs at companies outside of trucking in my area.

Okay, yeah, that's a decent area. Still rather be somewhere in the northern half, like Wisconsin, NH or Maine, but DT Nash is alright.

Yep, this economy or recovery feels weird.
I pulled most the money in my 401k off of stocks and have it sitting there safe.
I hope to rebuy at the bottom??

I am so tight on data this month, I'm gonna try to live like an Amish the next 4 days.
(Except for the sex with farm animals every morning part)

When I was there it was phrased "we need a favor with a reefer load, so can you run a reefer?" I never refused a reefer load.
