Technically, there is a code. Within the city limits, it's enforced. But out in the county they look at you like you're a moron if you come in for one unless you are building a new house or putting in a septic system or new well. My son-in-law went in for one when he was going to add on to his mom's house...when they found out where he lived, and what size addition, they just gave him the 'forgetaboutit' wave. And said unless he was within the city or had an a-hole neighbor, don't worry about it.

The only other area where it is enforced is within zone 1 hurricane areas, then everything is extra reinforced and enforced.

How many watts is the inverter you can purchase from Crete and have them install? Can you get your own fridge to plug in to the inverter instead of theirs?

    I have no idea,
I toyed with the ideal of getting a good 12 volt model from truckfridge, but I'd rather get out of the truck and eat and relax.

As far as dedicated accounts, they lost a lot of KC to Schneider years ago. The Paris, TX yard use to be half full with Crete trailers, now it's a punkin patch. And GM has been doing on-demand loads for years, Crete use to have a great dedicated account with them, but years ago they did away with all dedicated accounts and went strictly to the lowest bidder. With the shear size of those companies, I would doubt they would cut ties with any mega carrier as long as they meet the acceptable safety, service, and price levels needed.

Picked up my load at Wheat Ridge CO to Gering NE a little before midnight. Windy night, I25 closed to "High Profile" vehicles north of Cheyenne. When I opened my door at the customer, wind caught it and it looks like I'll be needing some work on my hinges. After dealing with breakdown, (who transferred me to accidents and not much else) my door isn't the only thing close to being unhinged.
