Crete Carrier - A Year In Review - Fall 2013 Going Forward

I heard all the new Crete trucks are gonna be Werner blue ....

 

What a shame If that rumor turns out to be true! Crete's been around for a long time...

 

I'm going to be really disappointed but not totally surprised really all good things come to a end and I will look elsewhere for employment

 

As heir to Duane's estate, wouldn't Mrs. Acklie have the power to control the company's future? I doubt that she would allow the hard work her husband did building Crete to be pawned off to such a low-life company. The Acklie's seemed to be respectable decent Godly people...I would be shocked to see them sell out. If anything, it would be a positive if they did what other companies did, rather than sell out to a larger mega, go ESOP and put the employee's in the ownership chair. It's not like anyone over there is hurting for money, so selling for cash isn't the reason.

They messed up and got me a load delivering near home

 

They're not selling. The grandson wants to follow in Grandpa and dad's footsteps. He's involved in some pretty big decision already.

 

It's good to hear he is going to try to be more like Duane rather than Tonn.

 

Ya Tonn way really sucks to be honest but I'm anxious too see what I get when I'm back on the road and probably do 3-4 weeks at first my right eye gets pretty sore when I start getting tired

 

I was hoping to deliver and get the no freight message and go home.
But, a 2,100 miler to Nevada for Tuesday. And with only 3 fuel stops,

I hope the snow is gone in Wyoming.

 

Nice long one for ya! I turned down a Lake Wales, FL to Henderson, NC and got a Brunswick, GA to Denver, CO load in place. Turned 720 down and got 1850...nice trade off as far as I am concerned. My load into Florida came from Atwater, CA (2800 mi.).
