Beats me, I don't live out here.
If the OTR drivers don't put a stop to this Walmart nonsense then it'll never end.

Checked my truck into the shop at Salt Lake at 1800. They took it right away and had the B-service and one new tire done a little after 2300. Had to wait for the Freightliner guy to do a valve adjustment but got it back at 12:30. Picked up a load to Cheyenne, dropped it and ended at the terminal a little before 0400. Wyoming was inviting everybody inside to show papers, but didn't really take all that long.

Did the Acklie Companies ever commit to Prepass for the scales and POE's? Makes the WY POE's almost irrelevant when you have it.

No and I don't have it either, didn't think it would be worth it to me on the routes I usually run. With the "Don't tread on me" attitude in the west, seems somehow ironic to want it here.

I'm done for the day, 160 miles with 3:56 hours of drive time.

I like my Prepass, it's fun watching all the trucks that went in the scale pass me again.

My first two years were automatics, back then they sucked, I was always getting stuck on the street waiting for the computer to reset so it would go into gear.
But I've read they work now.

    iraqralph43 Thanks this.

For an OTR job, given the choice between a new automatic or a used manual, I'd probably take the new one just for the sake of having a new truck. Most of the issues I had were either caused by the company neutering the computer system and/or using it for local driving (which apparently causes the clutches to get hot and act weird)

One other weird thing about the autos. If you ever have to get towed, the tow truck driver has to take off the driveshaft. It happened to me, the poor guy had to crawl underneath the truck to do it when it was about 15 degrees outside.
