As a federal rule yes, however, a carrier may still have it as a requirement for employement.

I was wrong...the FMCSA has decided not to move forward with the sleep apnea in near future and have removed it from their notice for advance rulemaking...although, I wouldn't say this is Trump administration's doing. OOIDA brought their attempt to slip the change in apnea testing in with another regulation that was already approved to Congress' attention long before the election. Either way, it's not 100% dead...they have just decided not to proceed with it at this time.

Trump had made it known that he was going to reduce regulations and these two regulations by the FMCSA that were proposed we're useless that's why his administration did away with them

If they go after the FMCSA,like they did the EPA.That would be great.

Just keep in mind it was the Reblican's who along with the ATA pushed for much of this to advantage large carriers over smaller carriers and owner ops.

Without turning this into a political discussion, but the President can't do #### w/o the congressional majority vote. Every President campaigns on how they're gonna change the world, but without Congress they can mandate things, but that is easily overturned by either of the remaining 2 branches of government...if they so choose. The President is basically a PR show pony...

Plus having authority over what his cabinet does, which is exactly what he did by dictating that they can't come up with a new regulation without first getting rid of two. I believe that is what killed those proposals.
