Mine never drops that low when coming off coast, I just hold down the petal, or downshift and it keeps right on going. Unless the load is heavy, I rarely drop below 62 when pulling a hill. This truck pulls better than any of the 10 speed trucks I've had here

The worst part is mfg’s are constantly working with fleets to take away options from drivers. At some companies you can only select drive, neutral or reverse, no shifting or changing modes.
Soon auto braking and assisted steering will add to the mix with Freightliner leading the way. Really it’s only the backing that’s left to demonstrate skills anymore, they really want driving a class 8 truck to be no more difficult than driving a pickup...

Wow. 2 threads to hold it all, nearly 2,000 comments total. When the original thread was still young, it was a large part of what convinced me to go drive for Crete - in 2008. Now I've not driven a truck in 5 and a half years, but I still come by here because I guess I sometimes miss the road. It was definitely an adventure! Anybody still around from back then? Supersnackbar? Evertruckrr? jdrentzjr (I guess I could just call that last one, we talk pretty regularly)...

That looks expensive. And it also looks like it was on the flatbed's sight side. What the heck?!

I've tried to find as many Wylie glass haulers to park next to as I can, just to be a "big richard", but I have a hard time finding any since I departed there.
